I have a sweet tooth like mad and years ago I would drink like 6 cans of coke a day. Sometimes more not even joking. Was never fat funny enough but like skinnyfat. I guess I got most of my calories through soda. Scary when I think about it actually.
But yeah breaking that habit wasn't easy and I still fiend for that shit mad sometimes. Getting by with lots of tea and black coffee though.

homemade burgers are safe. i eat them often even while cutting, i just get rid of the bread and dont use any sauce. its just lean ground beef+ grilled veggies (shrooms, onion, tomato, avocado..) and spices if oyu like it hot, as long as youre not eating til you choke on them its a ok.

I have a can of soda during meals cause can't stand drinking non carbonated shit with food. It's all about self control. I don't like the taste of any diet soda. I usually have a Monster or Dr Pepper. I made meal cards and I am fortunate enough to have 300-400 calories below my goal for soda during lunch and dinner. You don't have to give up all bad things.

Yeah, I'm cutting too but still went with buns. The fucking buns almost had more calories than everything else I used combined. Beef and chorizo patty, Swiss cheese, Avocado, Tomato and Spinach. Was pretty good but patties too thick. Should have squashed those fuckers right down more before cooking.
