I just set a new PR, 5x10 with a 45 pound vest

I made sure to go super deep to fully activate my muscles

my shoulders hurt really bad now but no pain no gain am I right?

You can dip below parallel. I would say you probably should for rom. If you're not sure by all means as it's safe, but if you've dipped on rings it's like where your biceps touch the rings about. Lower than 90 but higher than 45 degrees at the elbow.

most I've ever done is 5x5 +50kg on the weight belt. I did them in a mirror once and saw my shoulders were uneven and switched to CGBP and btn skullcrushers for a while instead. Didn't help that occasionally I'd get crazy sternum pain like it was about to split in half.
