Actually, fuck it, this is a better read - but Mentzer / Arnold confrontation was two things: Arnold registered on the DAY of the event, not 30 days before, like everyone else. Then, Arnold wanted a Two-Class system, whereas everyone else was cool with Open Class. He played it safe, it didn't work but he won anyway, because of his 'outrageousness.'
Everyone would do 1 pose in their positions, and Arnold takes a big step forward to literally break away and put the focus on him. Then the next guy would try it and Arnold would step back - taking the focus off the other guy again etc.
