I do realize that. It's insulting because I would be known on the fitness scene if I were on gear at this weight. Or at least able to be the #1 93 kg lifter in Canada if I were on gear.

Any gym is what you make it. Ryan at Northland is one of the biggest people I've ever seen IRL, 6'4 around 300lbs solid. Northland used to be my home gym when I was living in Dalhousie, I made good gains there.

The retards you see littered around in practically every food thread (though I'm not saying they're the majority) who are proud of dirty bulking. Who don't care about about feeding the brain or taking care of the heart, or their skin, or their arteries, or anything else.

Just people who are lazy and want to commit to a binary approach where the number on the scale is the only thing that matters, not all the vital ramifications that ought to be considered alongside weight loss or gain.

Go onto MyFitnessPal message boards and you'll see them in huge quantities relative to /fit/, which makes sense since the site is marketed as a "here, we have a convenient and simplistic way for you to lose/gain weight and track it", so anyone who's having even remote success (when they had a binary goal with which to begin in mind) is going to encourage the many more desperate people to adopt that lazy approach as well.

I was flamed by literally dozens of people and the thread amassed 100s of posts on that same MFP board in a thread about http://www.today.com/health/man-loses-56-pounds-after-eating-only-mcdonalds-six-months-2D79329158 where people were smiling ear-to-ear about knowing they have the ability to do the same, and they gave me the biggest online stink-eyes for even bringing up quality.

Micros are precisely called that because you only need a little bit of them. There are very few dietary plans that follow IIFYM but somehow don't give you necessary micros.

My approach is simple: be mindful of micros and their benefits and weigh THAT against processing, additives, preservatives, etc. (of the worst kind) and their disadvantages, and consider the balance or imbalance over a long-term approach and the effect it'll have on one's body.

The enthusiastic, proud dirty bulkers fit that bill. I'm not saying those people necessarily overlap with a typical dietary plan produced from IIFYM. That's who I'm criticizing. If your thing is IIFYM and not turning a blind eye to the important things I mentioned, more power to you.
