Public school is shit tier in the US if you don't live in a wealthy area. People always say "Well learn for yourself outside of school" which I agree with, but don't force me to spend a third of my day at a place with the claimed intention of education if I'm better off studying on my own when I leave anyway lol.
I spoke to one of my high school teachers a while back and she said when getting her doctorate her group was told that high school isn't for education, it's for producing the general citizenry. College is for learning, high school is for conditioning.
It made a lot of sense at the time and if I have kids I'm never sending them to a public school if the ultimate goal is to make everybody as mediocre as possible.
