Who here trains with calisthenics? Rarely see posts about it but I'm sure someone does. Did you see any size gains? What was your training routine like? Did you bulk? I was actually thinking of combining a calisthenics routine with a strongman routine to get ultimate functional strength. Good idea or no? I've been training for two years and have a nice foundation

Legit calisthenics like pullups, dips, lunges, box jump are GOAT mixed with heavy lifts you basically have an athlete tier workout.

i had shitty diet when i started so dont know if that really matter if ur just starting but once the gains stop rolling in ur gonna want to focus more on diet

Current routine

Mon: Pull ups 5x8 weighted
Deadlifts 3x5
Cleans 3x6
Bent over barbell rows 4x6
Tbar rows 3x8
Hammer curls 3x8
Around 15 minutes of bodyweight ab stuff

Tuesday: Incline dumbbell press 3x8
Seated overhead barbell press with front raises superset 5x6
Dumbbell shoulder press 4x6
Close grip bench 4x6
Dips 4x8 weighted
Tricep pushups 3xhowever many as possible to burn em out
Jumprope for 15 minutes

Wednesday: Zercher squats 4x6
Stiff legged deadlift 3x8
Box jumps 3 sets
15 minutes of bodyweight ab stuff
HIIT 15 minutes sprint for 30 secs, walk for a minute and repeat

Thursday: Same as monday but with rack pulls instead of deadlifts and no cleans. Do shrugs instead and a lot of hyperextensions

Friday: Same as Tuesday

Saturday: HIIT and heavy rope work

Sunday: Rest

I have low leg volume because I have naturally large/strong legs from genetics, track, and hiking all my life. I have a lot of back and shoulder volume because those are my weakest muscle groups and I want to build them up. Chest grows like crazy too since my first 6 months were as a chest bro so I don't even bother anymore. Hoping that cali will build my back up more and strongman will help as well

I could not access gym for a while so I had to come up with a bodyweight routine, which ultimately resembled something like this:

A
Push-ups
Dips, focus on chest
Wide grip pull-ups
Supine rows
Pistol squats
Sprints

B
Hand-stand push-ups
Chin-ups
Some kind of bodyweight rows
Sprints

If I got to use added weights and do squats and deadlift at times, I'd probably be pretty content to keep up the routine for good

One rest day between each workout

Lol any recommendations for the calisthenics and strongman routine? Haven't really pieced the routine together yet. I'm 6'0" by the way at around 12% bodyfat at 200 pounds. Bodyfat probably a little off. Bench: 225 probably, squat:400 and deadlift: 420

Yeah iam doing this since 3 months
Gained 15 lbs and got stronger
Made some gains in size too

Start was haard, legs/core was sore for almost 2 weeks straight

I guess when I get too old to not break my back in two with my squats and deadlifts, I'll do calisthenics and more cardio.

Looks fun, though.

My chest, shoulders and traps did get some nice shape.

I would do the bodyweight rows at a playground, there were monkey bars where I could also elevate my feet on the vertical bars
