I carried a little extra fat for a long time and didn't have a huge problem with it. I'm finally cutting down and thankfully after years of lifting with a little fat marbled in the meat, I'm keeping significant mass. Dieting is the worst part though, having to actually pay attention to my diet instead of just trying to even out the week at less than 23000 calories and making sure I hit my protein is a lot tougher.

when i was about 14 i was at like 5'5 and weighed 200 pounds, after that I started running and i went down to 140 at around 5'9, so just a little on the thin end, I haven't grown much but i weigh 160 now. To be honest I'm not lean because I'm lazy and undisciplined. The only reason I'm not fat is because I lift and because I don't eat processed junk food or sweet things. I just can't stop eating fucking steak and oatmeal and fruits. If I really wanted to be lean I could be but I'd rather eat huge portions

Ex fatty here. I started losing weight and working out with my bf a lot and riding my bike tons.

Lost good amount of weight. Then my bf told me to stop. He was upset because despite being a little cardio bunny twink himself he likes big men.

So we decided on 20 percent minimum. Which kind of sucks because of how much I love bicycling now... it can be easy for me to drop five pounds in a couple weeks if i dont eat enough. Cycling to and from work 12 miles each way.

On the other hand, I can just guesstimate my calories and dont need to be all counting my macros like my boo. Which is good because i just made a cheeseburger mac and potato casserole that smells amazing.

Yes sir. I see no point in going under 10-11% unless you compete. I usually cruise at 15-20% and when the number goes higher I cut.

I agree, OP has some great points, but you really complete the idea. 2bqh Family, as long as I can see my abs/serratus to an extent, I am fine. As an ex fatty, that is my biggest insecurity, is looking like that again. Plus it's never interested me to look super ripped.

I try to stay at like the 9-13% BF range. Never going to be super ripped, never going to have that lower ab vascularity, but at least I look kind of strong, and not too bad.

That's not what I wrote. Your ratio leans that way only in comparison to his. You'll never be full ottermode (never go full otter) unless you are training for aerobic muscle endurance.

Delayed activation allows for more coordination of muscular exertion. Thereby the long and short head of biceps are developed more evenly. This is why your muscles appear relatively long, where his have a more defined belly.

Training can affect this and if you want to exaggerate development toward the rounder muscles you just need to alter training a bit.

Lift eXploSiVELY each rep, and keep sets short and sweet. This will come at the expense of some "form", but don't be afraid of a little swing, a little momentum. Watch video of elite builders, they are not super strict. They go for immediate maximal effort at the beginning of the lift. Go heavy even if you need to do a bit of cheating (be reasonable pls).

Creatine Monohydrate is still the most scientifically proven muscle enhancing, strength enhancing supplement. Great for Anaerobic performance and also fullness. Don't buy into the fancy creatines and the expensive combos with all kinds of arginine and BCAAs and bullshit. If you can deal with the intestinal effects, Creatine is fucking amazing. People write it off but I guarantee that all highly competitive sprinters (fast twitch motherfuckers) are on loads of it.
