I just started lifting, what's the point of deadlifting? Surely you could just do isolations for the separate muscles in a far less taxing manner and achieve the the same progress

What kind of isolation exercise are we talking about? Taxing in term of what? Energy, time, money, love? What kind of progress? Muscle mass gain, strength gain, fat loss?
