How does weed effect your weightlifting, long or short term, in your experience?
I believe I've seen some effects in my personal body building journey, but I know everyone is different. Also, how much do you smoke?
What I've found:
-smoking irritates and constricts my lungs, so now I stick to vaping and edibles instead
-can eat a bazillion calories if I have access to them (double edged sword, depending on whether I want to be gaining weight or not)
-smoking more than a few times a week impacts overall motivation
-mellowing/chillout effects can lessen mental intensity for worksets
overall I'd say it can be pretty benign if you use responsibly and pay attention to your consumption without overdoing it.
Some days I like smoking at the end of the night but, if I am smoking a lot it is not easy to cut ha. Smoking and working out is fun for outdoor long distance cardio but I don't like going to the gym high. I have worked out on adderall, low dosage xanax, and low dosage opiates. Any body know how these drugs effect working out also?
i smoke everyday and lift heavy weight and im strong af around 15% bodyfat... 190 lbs 5ft 9 22 yo
i eat a lot of fucking food at night because i smoke at like 10pm and then gorge myself like 2 am, but i still look pretty strong with no belly really and my lifts go up every week, im not complaining
I was able to cut just fine and I smoked everyday, just don't eat it's that easy. It affected my short term memory but it's back now that I stopped. It's fine if you can keep your shit together.
