I'd like to say its cause I dont know how to study for them but that could be bs

>Bench
405 for a matched PR, felt and looked like butter. Got greedy and went for #420lbazeit and only just barely missed it, because i got scared and tucked too much and got my elbows out of position. STILL almost got it.

https://www.instagram.com/p/99cTgjTH28/?taken-by=norsefat

>deadlift
very dissapointed, but not surprised. I told people as far back as 4 weeks ago that I didn't think my deadlift was good. the type of training and variations and volume that boris has you doing was extremely detrimental to my deadlift, and my form has gone to complete shit. I pulled 675 catbacked today and it wasn't exactly fast. Went for 700 and couldn't even touch it.

again, not surprised, but i think i'm going to be making some relatively major changes to the deadlift programming. more than likely focusing REALLY hard on keeping thje starting position strong with pause deadlifts at lower weights.

>675 shit show

Tbh I mostly think its the fact that deadlifts are very fatigue sensitive and you probably would have needed more time to recover to do a good deadlift.

That goes both for the skills test and sheiko in general for you. When you cant handle the fatigue you start pulling catback in training and then it goes kinda downhill

I dont think your deadlift has regressed though, I just think you may not be 100% recovered rn.

When someone isnt at a top elite level, has been training fairly good and something goes bad, you can usually rule out strength regression

interesting thought. I don't think I regressed. I DO think that motor patterns aren't sharpened, and the reason i disagree with you and avon (maybe incorrectly?) is that I don't beleive my deadlift will magically fix itself like squat and bench.

Squat and bench RARELY looked bad despite feeling bad. deadlifts looked bad for a looong period of time, and I'm in the camp right now that I need to fix that shit.

I could be wrong though.

I did like 2 months of bodybuilding when I was 17, got 135kg squat (around parallel if I recall correctly) 95kg touch and go bench and 145 deadlift (catback as fugg). Didn't touch any weight for a year, then I started SL 5x5, started from 5x5x95kg squat, 5x5x75kg bench and 1x5x110 deadlift and went straight to 5x5x160kg squat, 5x5x100kg bench and 1x5x170 without ever stalling, bw went from 82kg to 87kg, form was total shit. Fucked around for a few months doing westside (lel) and I ended up with the following 1RM, 180kg squat, 117.5kg bench and 200kg deadlift at around the same bw. Started PL and in 9 months my maxes shot up to 200kg squat, 135kg bench and 210kg deadlift, at 91kg bw. Fast forward 7 months and I did 225kg bench, 140 bench (had room for 150 but fugged up), 220kg deadlift (like bench, probably had 10 more kg). Fast forward another year, last June to be exact, and I did 260kg squat, 170kg bench and 260kg deadlift at 100.4kg bw. That's all folks

Hi, Sean. Here's a (You)
>>
Several months ago I pulled something in my groin/hip flexor area doing bulgerian split squats (rear foot elevated on a bench). I took a month off from all leg work and now every time I try to go back to squatting I get a sharp pain in the fold/crease of my leg when I hit parallel, it's especially intense when trying to get up out of the hole. I tried deloading all the way down to lmao 1 plaet and still experience the pain. I've taken now six months off from squatting and it's still there.

Is this psoas or pectineus or something else? And how the hell do I rehab it, it isn't going to fix itself evidently.

Lads, I applied for this PT job at my uni despite being totally unqualified other than internet knowledge (the application told me to list all my qualifications, and I said none for all of them lel), but I somehow got contacted back for an interview.

They told me to make up a program for a former HS soccer qt turned chubby med student with pre-hypertension. Her goal is to lose weight, become healthier, and be able to do a pull up

I basically cooked up
Squat: 3x8
Stiff legged RDL: 3x8
BP/Press variant depending on strength: 3x5
Assisted pullups: 3x6

All starting at around RPE 7.

5 pound linear progression for the first two lifts, switching to a 5x5 when it stalls and then to a 5x3 when the squat stalls (Then the RDLs transition to regular deadlifts).

BP/Press is just 2.5 pounds every session, then switch to a 3x8 and begin the progression like squats. Pretty much the same with pull ups

Any thoughts? I'm going to mention all the basic nutrition/mobility stuff too.
>>
>>34881241
>I got tested and therefore natty
>>
>>34881211
He claims he got tested but even if he did we all know how corrupt Italians are so he wouldn't even have to payoff the doping official that much (talking like £20 here)
>>
>>34881264
You won't get the job if you write down a real program. Chances are they want to see cardio and machines
>>
>>34881264
They'll want to see what you'd probably consider to be unnecessary amounts of cardio. Do an upper lower with hard cardio on lower days and easy cardio on upper days.

I wouldn't even mention anything about going as heavy as three reps t.b.h.
>>
>>34881224
I'm having the same exact problem right now, probably not as severe, but I'm interested on an answer too. I've been stretching the psoas, piriformis, adductors and hamstrings, still feeling quite stiff tho
>>
>>34881264
Justify your choices here:
Why the inconsistent rep ranges?
Why 3x8 switchted to 5x5, when it gives you exactly the same volume?
Assisted pullups for a fat woman? Just get real and give her lat pulldowns and rows to do

Make her do some light cardio. Normies love to see some cardio for fat people with hypertension.
>>
>>34881264
doesn't sound like it really fits into her goals desu. she doesn't want to be stronger, aside from being able to do a pullup. Not even memeing but cardio seems like a necessity for what she wants. add in some rowing (concept 2 rowing machine) imo if you know how to teach someone the (easy) technique.
>>34881308
that isn't even a normie thing, that makes sense.

>>
>>34881326
>that isn't even a normie thing, that makes sense.

Hypertension risk would go away once she lost some weight, and cardio isn't really necessary/all that helpful for that. It's a healthy thing to do in her case tho.
>>
>>34881041

yes, I don't either and scored above that. But for the general population who hovers between 85-115, it's not something they really can get close to
>>
>>34881281
I'm also concurrently applying to a new uni position that's basically a form checker for powerlifting/oly form, so I'm hoping they'd be more open to barbell training

>>34881299
I have some cardio there. Upper/lower can't be done because the client is asking for 3 sessions a week.

>>34881308
>Why the inconsistent rep ranges?
I figured girls would be weaker at upper body lifts, so it'd be better to start off with lower reps there. Possibly thinking about just doing dumbbells also

>Why 3x8 switchted to 5x5, when it gives you exactly the same volume?
Increasing intensity to taper out strength. Will probably switch to intermediate hypertrophy training after the 5x3s. Thought it'd be a good idea to lay a solid strength foundation

>Assisted pullups for a fat woman? Just get real and give her lat pulldowns and rows to do
That's probably a good idea. It's just a hypothetical scenario, so I'd just see what the client is able to do and adjust from there

>>34881326
I figure some sort of strength = health lol.

Honestly, if were to be real, I'd just give Starve xF with a ton of cardio and be done with it, but that would not be a good idea in terms of me getting this job

>>

>>
>>34881363
Cardio would definitely help with hypertension m80

>>34881379
Breh as much as we all love strength training in this case definitely prioritize cardio. You could still do a U/L three times a week too.
>>
>>34881379
You can't really go wrong with some sort of circuit workout that includes short cardio exercises, some easy bodyweight movements, and maybe some dumbbell work.

That one day, 1-2 strength/lifting days, another 2 days of steady-state cardio.

It think you're overcomplicating it desu.
>>
>>34881378
Yeah, people feel like morons most of the time, I get that. I was simply questioning the scale there. I would rate 170 as 'godlike' and 120 as just slightly above average.
>>
>>34881301
For me it's just the right leg, left leg is fine. I tried some stretching but things don't seem to be tight. However, after I stretch then that muscle (whichever the fuck it is) seems irritated and might even hurt a little when simply raising my knee while rotating it outward to the side of my body.

I really don't know if it's tight or weak or what.. it just all started after I fucked something on those stupid fucking split squats.
>>
>>34881415
Here's what the description said:
>She has hired a personal trainer to develop effective and time efficient workouts that will help decrease her weight, lower her blood pressure, and increase her overall health. She signed up for 18 sessions with you. She wants to feel confident and healthy again. She would also love to be able to do a pull-up unassisted during her 18 session package.

I guess just ascribing cardio and fork putdowns would be sufficient for that heh

But would the program I made be a good beginner lifting program in general?
>>
>>34881435

>>
>>34881461
seemed a little overcomplicated imo. it would surely work but milking out those last few weeks of linear progression (when you change the rep ranges) would just be unnecessary. at that point switching to an early intermediate program like TM would probably be equally effective.
>>34881479
his knees look pretty cool desu. i don't think i've seen that before.

So I could potentially do a LxUxLxx and UxLxUxx

Lower being
>Plyometrics
>Cardio circuits with squats, jumping jack shits and whatnot

>>
>>34881515
yeah i agree with this. lifting is great but you have to remember that different people have different goals when you're training them, and intense squats and deadlifts don't necessarily fit into those goals.
>>
>>34881506
that's because it's a very stressful position for your knees and hips, I don't think a lot of people can tolerate it. might be different with equipment, since the gear takes a lot of the load in the position that is most stressful for the joints
