When I was doing a bodybuilding routine this summer, my forearms gained quite a bit of size with this:
Behind back barbell wrist curls 5x12
Superset with
Reverse wrist curls 5x12 (I did them on a preacher curl bench thing)

I keep a decent size chunk if silly putty at my desk that i squeeze and mold while working. Did it all through high school for wrestling and improved my grip strength a lot. I can crush an apple with one hand now.
