I really shaped up my diet to only fruit/veggies, brown rice, fish, chicken and oats. Pic related was me about 3 months ago. I lifted 3-4 times a week and ate like complete shit. I now lift 7 days a week with my strict diet.

i looked this up for reference http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=155134473. he started with more muscle mass and less fat than you started with and ended with about the same muscle mass and bf as you did at the same body weight except it looks like his back is more developed. it took him 2 years.

if you really made that progress in 6 months natty, then congratulations. you're dedicated, you lifted hard, you ate perfectly, and your genes are fantastic for lifting.

Went from 285-234 over 4 and a half months. I have been lifting but not too hard because I do not eat much and am focusing on weight loss. I was thinking I will start to eat more and lift heavier once I am like 200 but friends say I should try and get down to like 185 first. Any suggestions?

5'9 180 lbs, lifting 10 months and a half
started with stronglifts 5x5, then moved to 3x5, and now I am doing texas method
texas method allowed me to progress infinitely faster, as I was stalling hard before
current lifts are:
deadlift: 315lbs x5
squat: 275 lbs x5
bench: 200lbs x5
ohp: 140lbs x5

1800 cal, low carbs (15%) and the rest protein and fats. Cardio here and there, mostly during summer. Ec stack. I really pushed myself in the gym though, a rule of thumb I kept is that by the time I get to the 7th rep my muscles should start burning. And by the time I'm at 10 I can barely hold the bar/dumbbell etc. anymore. That's how I excelled and pushed myself. The burn, focus, stimulants (ec pwo etc.), death/black metal all combined together literally gave me a high that I got addicted to. Still am.

I guess you already should lift as hard, as you can - more calories going into building muscles instead of going into fat is always good thing. Also, you will begin to look better.

Keep on cutting, but still lift as hard, as you can. In the meantime drop some weight and then begin to slowly adding kcals - so you will keep on gaining muscle, but keep on losing fat.
