Fml. I just can't get my squat up. I stopped cutting for a few weeks just to get it up and just got fat instead of stronger.
>>
>>34856758

What's your training like man? post your routine, calories, macronutrients, sleep, etc.
>>
>>34856790

StrongLifts (switched to 3x5 on Squat). 2500 cals a day, 40% carbs, 30%, fats, 30% protein. 8 to 9 hours of sleep daily. Thinking about moving to MadCow as squat has stalled so bad but lifts so low still.
>>
>>34856945

Forgot to ask, what's your squat and bodyweight? And how much has your bodyweight changed in the last month?

I think you should switch to another novice program. I always see guys having problems with SL 5x5 and stalling way too early. I think 5x5 is unnecessary volume for beginners.

Do something like this below at 3x5 except for the chins. Do them at 2-3 x 8 - 12 (add weight if you can do more than 12, but start slow).

D1

Bench
Squat
Chins

D2

Press
Deadlift

D3

Bench
Squat
Chins

Alternate the bench and press weekly
>>
>>34857028

PS

you can add a squat on wednesday if you want.

>>
>>34855687
The site is complete bullshit. Doesn't account for height, just weight...If someone is 6'6 250 or 5'6 250, they'll have different strength.
>>
>>34857449

The numbers I put in for the bench are my floor press numbers. I don't bench as I can't fit on the bench at the gym and maintain tightness. But we are having another made, so will start benching soon. Floor press is much harder to increase as it's primarily tricep pressing strength, while the bench involves everything.

Been lifting about 6 months; 5'7 61kg. On a squat specialisation program atm and getting into weightlifting so hopefully will see some decent strength gains soon. Looking at getting a belt soon too so that might help.
>>
>>34859796

What on earth are you doing a squat specialization program for when you've been lifting for 6 months? Just do a regular novice program and squat.

I stalled on Candito's linear program and on SL5x5. I have an aggressive form of arthritis so it's much harder. I lose mobility very quickly and my medication is pretty heavy duty which interferes with recovery etc. but whatever I'm trying. Squatting 3x a week now rather than 2x and much lighter so I'm going to see how it goes. I think frequency is key (at least that was the case with my deadlift). There's not much info about people training with my specific condition so I just have to play around and see what works.

>>34860137
Well, your Wilks score is 215 and mine is 226, so I wouldn't necessarily say you're "lifting way more" than me. I know healthier women who have been lifting for the same period of time as me who can lift your weights quite easily with excellent form and ROM, who have a much higher Wilks score than you. But it must feel good to be able to lift more than a girl with arthritis; congratulations.

>>34860198

Fine for 3 months of lifting. Do your deadlifts though, they are IMO the best exercise for new lifters to add muscle everywhere

How to train face?
>>
>>34860923
Yeah, definitely. I just don't like setting up for them in my ghetto gym cause there are only like 3 bars and not a lot of floorspace. I also feel like grip strength is starting to become a factor. Should I start using chalk? And when should I switch to a mixed grip?

Don't necessarily start out with chalk. You could try using a mixed grip to begin with and if that doesn't work, you could buy straps. (Since most commercial gyms aren't too fond of chalk.

Don't bother putting the press then. DB press is never gonna be as strong as a BB press, so it's just gonna lack behind your other lifts forever.
