Either you're too young and your sternum isn't still 100% glued together (it's made of many bones which will calcify) either your form sucks.
>>
i dont know about you but if an exercise gives me pain i dont do that exercise

I've had this for 6 months. simply because I thought it was normal doms or what have you.

Went to a sports physio and later also a dr 3 weeks ago who told me I have developed a chronic inflammation in my sternum and the surrounding tissue / joints.

me and the physio discussed my last years training and we concluded that what most likely caused it was:
weight gain (high volume training) + very good shoulder flexibility (meaning I could hit a very low bottom in dips) + increased load in dips / strength gain were the reasons.

Was on anti inflammatory for 2 weeks, cut out dips, and just now started working chest again (not dips tho). its all about taking it slow.

I'm 24.

I've had this. People say it happens because you're young and your bones aren't together yet but I'm 21 and dips still hurt my sternum. Try narrow dips, works for me.
>>
Whats the problem with weighted dips?
>>
im 26

i did narrow dips
>>
you're immobile and inflexible

also you probally are shrugging your shoulders up which stretches your chest wich will hurt, try depressing the shoulders while dipping

>>34854324
no problem, except if you are inflexible
>>
>>34854230
meanwhile I'm dipping weighted 60kg after 2 years of training at 80kg bodyweight

how does it feel to be fragile
>>
>>34854064
Try straight bar dips.
>>
your form sucks

start doing a shitload of rows so that your scapulae grow strong, it will keep your posture good because you will realise to pull your shoulders back and down
>>
>>34854230
if it feels bad either correct form or drop dips for closegrip bp
>>
I get the same if I'm tiered, like if I've done bench or OHP before. No problem when I'm rested though
>>
>>34854064
I had the same thing. Stop doing dips or you could fuck your sternum. Srs
>>
You might have (this is in dutch and i am too lazy to google the english name of it) "syndroom van titze"
