Why is it that hipsters/"artists" are never fit and typically have shit-tier bodies?
My school is in the same city as a lot of really liberal artsy schools and I see these fuckers standing on the street smoking cigarettes in their ridiculous clothes all the time and none of them are ever in shape. I didn't notice this until I started taking lifting seriously about a year ago.

a lot of the guys i study with do work out. Thought most of them do "lifting for girls" type programs, so you'll have a lot of skinny ripped guys and such, not so much power lifting. Ofc, most of the students aren't ripped, but isn't it pretty much that way no matter what you study?
Also the girl to boy ratio here is amazing, probably like 70% girls and most of them are insanely hot and cute hipster chicks, and when you dress hipster - esq yourself and share interests etc (since you're studying the same thing) it's way esier to close them. Almost worth studying art just because of the girls. Also Fashion > Body, dressing well is more important than your body to get girls, most of the time people can't even tell you lift.

It's all about expressing the rich, intense emotions that are bursting out of your chest and in order to do that you need a minimum level of emotion-boosting estrogen. Manly men with healthy male physiques have dull, simple emotions that are more cut for problem solving and leadership than for empathy and artistic expression.

I've been into art and music since I was a kid and got into weightlifting and bodybuilding when I was in my early 20's.
I'd say the main reason hipsters, artists and musicians and such don't work out or do sports is because you have to hang out with lazy pretentious people all the time smoking cigarettes, drinking, doing drugs and shit.
Also art and music or whatever are very, very time consuming hobbies and when you get the inspiration, you'll be buried in your work all day, even days, barely eating and sleeping and just working on your shit. Most artists and such that you see are in a terrible shape because of that.
Then there are the shut ins who just want to work out, paint and shitpost all day like me, while maintaining a relatively healthy lifestyle away from the pretentious fucks that the art world comprises of. A lot of people work out as a way of dealing with their problems, improving their social standing, and just being generally happier. Skinny and fat people who don't want to be lost in the background. I think it just has to do with the avenues people use to gain social status. Hipsters spend their resources time/money attempting to make themselves more extrinsically valuable via taste and fashion. It is just a subculture that prioritizes style and obscure knowledge/talent. Their subculture does not include weightlifting at all because its not socially acceptable to bring what makes them socially valuable in to the gym with them. Its also pretty prevalent in this subculture to be a pretentious stuck up cunt that thinks they are better than everyone around them and it is very hard to go in to a gym at the bottom of the totem pole with that kind of attitude.

That's incorrect, democracies war with one another all the time. It's far from a perfect system (in fact it's enormously flawed). Too many opinions leads to too much bureaucracy and stuff takes longer to get done (or doesn't get done at all).
I'd still rather a democracy than most forms of govt, but we need to stop looking at it through rose colored glasses. It's far from the most sustainable or best govt system.
