Bodyweight general thread. Any of brahs here?
>>
Fuck yeah. I've been solely using my pull up bar and and general push ups, sit-ups, planks.
I also do some breakdancing but that's a whole nother game.
>>
>>31884901
I can do dragon flags, weighted dips/pullups (45lbs), front levers and a couple more bw exercises but i canĀ“t into planches. Do you just need crazy arm strength or is it something else?
>>
>>31884901
I am liberally using the pull-up machine, and the bosu tower or whatever that shit is, to do hanging knee raises and fight my APT.
Anything else that can help me further?
>>
>>31885072
You need insane connective tissue strength to do a lot of the harder moves. I don't care how much you bench or deadlift, you aren't going to be doing a planche unless you've been building that strength over a long period of time.
>>
>>31885072
you need technique bro, I bench 2pl8 and ive done planches easily with the right technique

How tall are you?

>>31885089
If your actual goal is to reduce APT, do pic related as well.
>>
>>31885140
I guarantee you're doing it wrong.

My PT told me, that I lack the curve in my spine and need to do a modified routine of what I had.
My core, especially my lower core, seems to be weak, I have trouble keeping my legs straight long enough and my right leg just gives up with a cramp.

My routine now is this:

A:
> BackSquat
> some kind of barbell row that hits my lower back much more
> Bench Press
> Hanging knee raises
> Hyperextensions
> Horizontal row

B:
> Fronts squat
> OHP
> Deadlift
> Hyperextension
> Assisted Pullup

I'm doing bodyweight stuff because of APT. Don't want to load a bar on my back until I've got it under control.

What do you think of the CC progressions for leg raises?

I feel like I could get started on hanging knees but I can't quite make it to a set of 20 flat leg raises. Did 1x10 and 1x15 last session.
>>
>>31885291
looks good, but I would rather like to hold the positions instead of doing too many repetitions.
Like, try to hold your raised legs for up to 1 minute.
>>
>>31885291
That part of CC it's about its only good
>>
>>31885288
Shouldn't you be doing more specialised core work if your core is weak?

>>31885291
The amount of reps for some of the sets are retarded, but the exercise progressions themselves are fine.
>>
>>31885291
I'd wait until you have the full 20 before you move on. Its about setting goals for yourself and achieving them. If you start 'cheating' you're just setting up bad habits.
>>
>>31885350
True about the repetitions, but for isometrics, hollow body planks or L-sits would be more beneficial.
>>
>>31885380
I don't know.
He suggested me the exercises and I incorporated them with the help from /plg/ into my Stronglift routine.
What would you suggest?
>>
>>31885403
It wouldn't be cheating be more efficient than bad advice you received.
I feel like I will get the 20, though. Partly because I might get it done in a couple of days. Partly because on some of those reps it feels like there is a cable in there that wants to snap.
>>
>>31885420
Dragonflag progression
Hollow body holds
Ab rollouts
Glute bridges
Superman holds
>>
>>31885459
Okay then, how do I incorporate them into my existing routine?
>>
Tried doing a front lever the other day, couldn't even do it tucked.

Fuck that shit, i need to get some rings at home.
>>
>>31885491
You could do dragonflag progression and ab rollout instead of hanging leg raises, and swap out hyperextension in B for glute bridges and superman holds.
But I don't know your routine in-depth. If you want to add the exercises, find a way to do it.
>>
>>31885441
>It wouldn't be cheating be more efficient than bad advice you received.

This statement makes no grammatical sense.

My point is that if you plan on lifting for a long time (which im guessing you do) you need to set up good habits. If you start letting things slip now then you are not doing that.

But fine, give up and quit after 4 months like everyone else.
>>
I just purchased CC3 and I'm very excited to add explosive work to my routine.

Unfortunately I'm coming back from 2 years of being a lazy fuck. This time I decided to give CC1 and true and honest chance.

I started legit on the first step and I'm milking these cock suckers for all I can. I'm 3 months in and only on the 3rd step for squats.

The crazy thing is that I'm actually seeing results. It will be interesting to see if I'm wasting my time or not.

Why CC and not Overcoming Gravity or Foundation?
>>
>>31886160

CC is about strength training and muscle building.

Overcoming gravity is gymnastics faggotry. Plus it's shilled for hard over at reddit bodyweight fitness, and I don't trust anything from reddit.
>>
>>31886229
>CC is about strength training and muscle building.
CC is about fucking around with a limited amount of exercises for a retarded amount of reps.

And if you're against "gymnastics faggotry", why the fuck would you purchase a book where front flips, no-hands kip-ups and back flips are included? If your focus is strength training and muscle building, those are largely pointless.

Overcoming Gravity is recommended because it's a fucking bible of exercises, routine advice and programming, and if you willfully ignore it while claiming to be serious about working out with bodyweight, you're the biggest idiot on this board.

You're not going to make it.
>>
yeah you need insane tendons for planche

already got a nice elbow inflammation from planche leans alone
granted I'm actually leaning in very far and holding for a good amount of time
>>
>>31886809
If you have access to rope-climbing or something similar, I've heard it helps with bicep tendon strength.
>>
>>31885514

what the hell, how?
>>

And why not?
>>
ayyy we in here boys

Just started doing one arm push ups and did a handstand for 11 seconds today. Working on trying to get a muscle without using my legs
>>
>>31886229
CCfags, ladies and gentlemen

As if admitting to being brainwashed by that shitty book wasn't shitty enough, tossing aside Overcoming Gravity because 'muh reddit' is the pinnacle of retardation
>>
>>31885684
Because I dropped the "to" before the "be more" by accident.

I intended to say that Convict Conditioning is famous for advising a shitload more reps than necessary to make the progressions.
If you could make the progressions by going 4x8 (like that start bodyweight plan) or something like that: why would you not do that?
Convict Conditioning is widely considered to be a gimmicky and shit plan. Being autistic about sticking with a shit plan is more of a plan for failure, is it not?

A thing I'm doing, for instance, is ignoring its squat progressions somewhat. I don't think 2x20 close squats prepares you for uneven squats.
Though, I suspect this might be because of shitty hamstring flexibility on my part...
Yes, I am making it a point to stretch them.
>>
>>31886102
>I'm 3 months in and only on the 3rd step for squats.

Don't you feel like that is really awful progress? Maybe you've got some shit I don't know about going on but surely you can do a full bodyweight squat?
>>
>>31887328
squat progressions usually mean progressing to pistol squats
>>
>>31887673
Yes but the poster to which I replied says he is on step 3. Step 3 of CC's squats is supported squats. Step 5 is a full bodyweight squat.

He is saying three months in he's doing squats holding on to a bench. So six months in he's on step 6 doing a close squat he can probably do today?
>>
I've started about 2 months ago. I'm using the Start bodyweight basic routine, should I keep with it or change something? I'm kinda skinny fat, should i maintain my weight, cut a little or bulk?
>>

>>31886603

Go back to reddit you fucking faggots
>>
>>31888387
Stick with it for now, but do some further research for additional bodyweight exercises.

As for diet, do a body recomp for now.

>>31888540
Still not as bad as ignoring the best bodyweight book on the market because of a retarded principle.
>>
>>31887328
I suppose it is, but again I'm not a normal faggot on fit. I don't give a fuck how I look and I don't care how long it takes me to get where I want to go,so long as I get there.

I actually read all of CC so I understand why the reps are so high. It's actually not that easy to do 3 sets of 40 supported presses or whatever.

I am fully willing to admit that I'm wasting my time, but at least I'm working out again and I am getting stronger and progressing.

Putting time in at the lowest progressions has helped my form considerably.
>>
>>31888540
is this nigger really so retarded he thinks reddit wrote that book or some shit?

reddit prolly recommends SS as well, so get the fuck right out of /fit/, it's literally reddit
