Is nofap a meme?
I fapped everyday or skipping one day and i had a relative good life. No rando boners no crazy sex drive for any female.

Now ive been noffaping for 2 weeks and i was with this grill hugging n shit and a drop of sperm cam eout of my dick.

What the fuck that never happened to me when fapping regularly.
Is nofap a meme? settle this down once and for all, I started doing it to rehabilitate my mental health.

What exactly does it mean to say: "is x a meme?". Is meme in this case defined as hoax/urban legend? Well, nofap is not an urban legend as it's not kind of a fictional story or perhaps a folklore. If meme is defined as hoax, do you intend to ask if nofapping is a joke/scam/trick? In this case it's striking that in today's meme-ing it has become a meme to use the word meme to say hoax. This does not explain what the reasoning behind the trickery would be. When did fit change from caring about gaining muscle and getting laid, to caring about how often anonymous people on this board give it an old rub? Meh.. Funny if you think about it

no fap is not just a meme. as someone who used to jerk it like 3 times a day and have zero sex drive outside it.

it actually helped me get my shit together. i didnt realize how much fapping kills your motivation for everything.

that being said i still fap every now and then. but only if im horny as fuck or blue balled by some grill.
>>
>>37655322
I used to do it once a day. And i only got boners when i needed to, like when involved with a chik. And now i get random boners when thinking about some small sexual shit.
>>
just stop strangling your dicks 3 times a day and just do it every few days like a normal adult you fucking virgins

I honestly think its the porn more than the fapping.

I only quit porn last year, continued the fapping etc, I've had massive changes in life, the outlook, more understanding, more motivation, gymming regularly and frequently. The problem with the porn was sitting there edging for hours, then doing it again trying to find the right thing to cum to. It also distorts your natural sex drive by making associations with a pc screen, odd fetishes, corrupt self delusions to validate why its ok etc.

Porn releases the most dopamine, while masturbating does generate it, porn hits you like an actual drug. Like I said in another post, I tried it out as an experiment a week ago and holy shit the rush it gave me was intense. To think it is capable of that rush, and you become so desensitized to dopamine that you dont feel it anymore. Dopamine also causes the strange association with the PC too, where you can only get off in a certain environment, or prefer it over actually being in the porn situation.

I fap like 3 times a day without porn, doesn't take much of my time up. I don't edge, I just cum and move along. Doesn't drain me of motivation or energy either. I mean yeah we can all have a variety of effects but I guess its safe to say that cutting down on one, the other or both is beneficial overall at least. Preferably cut out porn entirely, if youre going to continue to fap that is.

OP you only get those sort of weird effects in the early phases, but only if you don't fap at all. Keep fapping, aint nothing really "wrong" with it. Though you may lose some testosterone, this that etc, its enjoyable and harmless if you keep the porn in check.

i agree that porn is a bigger issue than fapping itself. but i'd still cut it back to once every few days. it can help clear your senses every now and then.
>>
>>37655503
How about no porn and jack off once or twice a week? Will that clear my head up? I tend to forget things easily due to getting distracted with another thing at the moment.

Bruh, dopamine is good, dopamine is love. Its that bigass prolactin release after ejaculating that just makes you lethargic and sleepy and unmotivated. I mean if you have any addiction, including porn, kicking it will improve your life ten fold. but imo nofap is really about the fap

I've tried abstaining from both, and I've tried masturbating using imagination only. I spent a year on each of those separate methods and the year where I saw real life-altering results (like the ones in that pdf of "nofap" stories) was the year I spent abstaining from both

although for me I think reading books has a similar effect on me, and I was still reading the second year so that may have inhibited it that time. That might seem unlikely but I noticed around that time that if I had been reading when I put the book down I recognised the way I felt physically as being the same. I also noticed when I was on that first year that the "old feelings" started to come back when I started listening to the radio, so maybe other forms of media are as much an issue in my case.

From what I've read about the neuroscience of this stuff, quitting one thing will not have huge, life-altering effects unless that one thing is a major reason why your motivational pathway is overloaded. If you have ten other reasons why it's overloaded then removing one won't be enough (unless the other nine are extremely minor) - you need to hit that threshold where you're able to recover, which is individual.

dopamine is pain/discomfort/restlessness, it becomes "rewarding" when you produce so much pain/restlessness that you end up desensitising yourself and then you feel no pain at all because your neurocircuitry is worn down to nothing.

you may be right about prolactin having effects too but a huge amount of the benefits of nofap listed in their pdf are linked to dopamine - specifically motivation, sensitivity, emotional connection.
>>
>>37656989
This is the point I was making.
Dopamine can absolutely destroy how you naturally bond and feel. While the prolactin release can hurt your life if maybe you have depression or some other mental illness, generally it won't be enough on its own to be devastating.

Prolactin is actually absolutely fine, feeling lethargic, sleepy and unmotivated is exactly why you use it to relax. You don't fap before you need to do things. I personally do it in the morning and before I sleep, two parts of the day that allow recovery time before I have to get into "work" etc. The one in the morning helps me deal with the morning and takes away any "need" throughout the day. Though yeah sometimes I will fap during the day. The one at night helps me sleep MASSIVELY. The prolactin effects should wear off within a few hours. But dopamine? Dopamine absolutely destroys who you are when administered large amounts - which is what porn does. It will redesign and break your neuro-circuitry , you will begin to see the PC and porn as your natural environment for sexual gratification and all kinds of nasty shit. It desensitizes you emotionally, morally etc. This is bad because a lot of men -avoid- or wont appreciate their partners, you begin thinking about porn during sex instead of the sex you are directly having. When you just masturbate, you don't get administered this massive dopamine effect. Like yeah, for a while it makes you relaxed and lazy, but you can get negative effects from literally anything you do for enjoyment.

I like masturbation, I understand it relaxes me for a while, but its an effect I like. Porn has huge, huge, huge effects on your psychological state.

>>37656907
I understand, we all have our differences. But I'm just sort of tired of people being ignorant about masturbation and its positives + demonizing it. It's all individual though, as you said.

>tfw jacked off every day since I was a teenager
>tfw 32 now
>tfw still jack off every day except now I'm on test

If you have a good sex life (you do, don't you anon?) then jacking off means nothing.

If you're a loser, then who knows. Maybe its messing with your loser brain.

Anyone gain thickness or size due to nofap?

Sounds like you're just retarded. I've never heard of fapping having anything to do with focus.
