Hi guys even time I deadlifts my lower back is sore as fuck. Any tips? I don't have a video or anything but I just want the general pointers. I'm assuming my hips aren't starting low enough, and I know I need to load up the weight on my hammies. Anyone wanna give me pointers please?

Also known as straight leg deadlift, which is not bad.
> I need to load up the weight on my hammies
If you didnt use your hammies, it would be literally impossible to get it up.
>lower back is sore
well no fucking shit you're a DYEL, and your back is getting stronger. As long as you dont round and have pain radiating down your legs you're fine.

So it's normal to be excessively sore? I'm a dyel but by lower back actually feels tense and stiff for days which is why I'm a bit worried about form
>>37470363
plz respond I'm trying to make it
You get lower back pain because you're lifting with your back. Use leg drive dumbass

if you're worried about form post a form check you fuck
>>37472118
If you've just recently started doing deadlifts and you haven't worked your spinal erectors much then yes you're gonna be sore as fuck. On another note, if you get all autismal about form you're never gonna lift more than bitch weight and contrary to what just about every keyboard warrior will tell you, what constitutes 'good' form will vary from person to person

Keep your back straight, don't focus on arching your back, instead focus on keeping a tight core.
If it's your spine, you're fucked.
If it's your muscles, it's doms and it's a sign that you're working that part of the back. Though it doesn't tell the whole story.

Only to a certain degree. Rounding your lower back in a deadlift, for instance, is never good form, no matter who you are.
