I remembered to focus on going slower on the last two reps, it's hard to forget my dive-bombing habit, next week I'll film some pause squats

And I'll repeat the same thing I've been saying for days now. You have zero control of how your spine is positioned. You are not ready to do back squats. Why are you so stubborn? You can SEE that you can't figure out how to do the fucking thing - then why not start out doing an easier exercise until you've learned how to brace?

The only other option if you INSIST on being an idiot and keep squatting with a barbell on your back when you shouldn't, is to start out doing partial reps to a box and only gradually increasing the range of motion. But the first option is way better.

Take one step back in order to take a hundred steps forward.

How do I know it when I start bracing properly? What are some cues for goblet squats?

Below is an outstanding article that I recommend you read 5 times and follow to the letter:

Here is a comprehensive breakdown of the goblet squat:

Other than a little buttwink your squat is fine. Just keep progressing while trying to get rid of the wink.

Thanks man I'll definitely read them later

How do I get rid of the wink? I'm trying to keep tension on my hamstring, glutes and abs while also forcing my knees outward like Rippetoe says
>>
>>37239634
Keep your core tight. Contract your abs to keep your back from extending like that. You can also go a little higher. You reach depth, but then go a little lower with the buttwink. Just start going up a little earlier and you'll avoid the wink.

Increase your ankle mobility (overall mobility also) and buy oly shoes. Keep your chest UP and core tense. Push knees to the sides a bit. Since you're learning, descend slower, because its easier to stay tight that way.

When your ankle mobility increases, you can push your knees further (this is a natural reaction, when you squat staying upright).

So should I switch to a full high bar squat even though I have long femurs? Or can I train in both high bar and low bar? I'm working a lot on mobility and flexibility, especially sitting in a deep squat position throughout the day.

How come when these guys do ATG their femurs point almost straight forwards, and mine point up towards the ceiling at like a 45 degree angle? Is it just proportions?
