Can whey proton expire?
I found an almost expired tub with like a couple weeks to go
Should I take protein shakes on rest days?
Why are you taking protein shakes to begin with? If your answer is "cuz it's something lifters do lol they grow muscle" you might as well jump under a bus
if it's to hit your macros, you probably know if you're hitting them on recovery days too so why the fuck would you do this thread
so the answer has to be the former in which case jump under a bus
Im going to the gym next week and was wondering what are some proper shoes for weightlifting? My friend said flat footed shoes but that's rather vague. Also what kind of shorts/shirts are good for lifting?
Okay thanks. I always buy arched shoes so I'm not too sure what to get for "flat shoes". Friend just said go barefoot but I don't want to be that weird newfag who doesn't wear shoes in the gym.
Anyone else having this happen to them like in the linked vid? Where you'll have people be overly flirty, catch looks, or have people "cat call" you?
The other day a Starbucks cashier was giving me my change, she kind of got quiet, looked at me and smiled, and cupped my hands with both of hers and said "here's your change". It was pretty weird. She was giving the fuck me eyes, it threw me way the fuck off.
How often is it okay to binge? To me binge eating is about 2400 calories. I haven't binged since I've started dieting. Would it be alright to binge occasionally or just continue being a miserable bastard
What is this mode called?
how much of a meme is "letting your muscles rest"
ie, is it detrimental to say, do tricep pulldowns on a monday and then dips and skullcrushers the next day?
Asking as a beginner.
As a beginner, linear progress is your most efficient, most sustainable avenue of growth. This emphasizes rest. That said, the SAID principle is real and hitting a muscle often will make it grow. Provided you have nutrition and sleep. Look at prisoners.
First of all, I can squat 4 plates for reps, so don't think I'm just some beginner who doesn't know what they're doing.
Can anyone explain why everyone always talks about high bar and low bar squats like there's some difference?
In my 6-8 years of lifting I've never seen any difference.
Pic related, it's the king of squats and all other exercises in action
I pulled a muscle in my arm lifting and it's killing me when I lift to the side. Do I just keep lifting or do I have to stop?
Let go of living. Just let yourself die.
>light headed at the gym again
>when you're hungover as fuck and go to the gym and throw up in your mouth a little bit doing chest flies but you swallow it and finish the set
So guys, I just stepped in a pool for the first time in 8 years. I recently quit smoking about a month or more or so, and I can still feel my cardio lacking. I spent about 40 to an hour in there.
Lost track of time 'cause I had so much fun.
I used to be a runner, exclusively just running. But this, this is something else.
If I swim 5 days a week in a month or two,
what results will I see in terms of cardio and physique?
They say it works out the whole body, right? I swam to the point I got a leg cramp.
Any swimmers here got any tips?
You build muscles but if you don't eat more all the extra cardio will make you lose weight.
Also a question for the thread, I live on the beach and I've always wanted to swim in the ocean for cardio but I do cardio at like 6 in the morning what are the chances of me being eaten by a shark or drowning because I'm not a good swimmer
Is there a safe zone netted off? Swim there if possible. Otherwise, sharks are not a problem until you live if Africa really. As for bad swimming, it's a huge danger to get pulled in by an undercurrent and drowning so I wouldn't recommend it without supervised experience. Or, in a calm cove.
Is it really that bad?
I'm a skinny fitness noob looking for a gym.
It ain't a bad gym for a cheapass beginner seeking noob gains.
But if you start lifting decent or lifting heavy, expect some judgmental looks and an eventual lunk alarm.
Good place to start, bad place to continue. That's their whole business model, capturing beginners and wannabes that never actually come to the gym but keep paying fees out of shame.
does lifting really increase test? is that why? because
1. im pretty sure the testosterone increase isn't that large
2. it takes a while
3. see one
4. see three
6. see five
tldr why do i get massive boners after lifting
