Hello /fit/ my mom's husband had this in his basement, what is this? No meme answers plz, I tried to reverse search this bit I only get generic gym pictures
Thanks in advance
It's a bench.
Don't say thanks you shithead, that's why your father left
>>37455281
Pretty sure you do crunches on it
>ankle injury
>doctor tells me no squats until RoM is fully restored
>up to two months
>two. months.
>open to alternative ideas so I don't lose my gains
Any ideas, I was thinking leg press + leg curl maybe?
Leg press would mess with your ankle too i'd think. Best bet is to look up what people did with a similar injury. I'd think leg curls + leg extension is your upper leg, i dunno about calves
>>37455179
get creative with cables. You know all those meme exercises you see those instagram girls doing with cables? They are actually pretty good if you use a decent amount of weight and do them like you would cables flies. By that I mean get a really really deep full and slow stretch to tear the muscle.
I injured my back a few years back and haven't squatted or deadlifted since then. My legs are the bigger and more developed than they ever have been. Although I incorporate leg press, for awhile I did a...

This, my back got ducked up from the military and I hardly do deadlifts or squats anymore on the off chance that something REALLY fucks up
>You lift but don't play football? Why?
>>37455153
Cause footballers are pussys
>>37455224
Still more men than you'll ever be
should you be playing basketball instead, my friend of handicapped skin tone?
Hey /fit/, I'm a little self conscious about my body so I've had to attach a cartoon version of myself (I'm the guy with the orange fringe). I just want to ask if you guys think I am good looking or not?

Why has the blonde on the right got no tits?
what's this gay fight club parody?
How long has most of /fit/ been lifting?
What's kept you going all this time?
1 week away from hitting my 4 year mark
>What's kept you going all this time?
Pure unadulterated autism. My gains are pretty pathetic for time spent compared to other people, but I look infinitely better than when I first started, so I guess that's the reason I wont stop. I'd rather look like 15% shit, instead of 100% shit.
>>37455075
About 6 years. I'm scared of stopping
as I don't want to lose any gains. That said my routine is now a lot different to when I first started. It's less time consuming and focuses on a compound and an isolation for each body part.
>be 17, riding to town with two chicks from school
>they're asking me why I'm so tired
>tell them I've been working out
>they laugh and say they can't tell
>understandable because I'm wearing clothes way too big for my body (thx mom)
>say nothing, unbuckle my belt, lift my shirt and tell them to look in the rearview
>they hesitate to...

Dear /fit/
I hate barbell rows with all my heart.
What can I do instead? Preferably with free weights.
Why do so many people hate those?
I fucking love them and they're my strongest lift.
Dumbbell rows or power cleans
Do dumbbell rows and face pulls
Do so many face pulls. Even if you don't change anything else, add face pulls.
>>37455029
Maybe I do them wrong? I don't know...
I don't like the bend over position, feels weird.
Could running help with my insomnia?
The insomnia is denying me my only escape from this world.
Insomnia ridden as wel, would also like to know

i escape this misery by smoking weed. rolling one 2 hours before bedtime, play little bit vidya and go to sleep, waking up the other day completely rested.
>inb4 smoking weed kills your gains
i already achieved my desired mode. just hitting the gym like once a week and i am golden.

I'm an introvert with no friends and little funds, not really an option.
My bmi is 37. I'm only gaining more and more weight and at this rate I'm gonna become morbidly obese pretty soon.
I've tried various diets, but I always ended up losing like 10 kg and then gaining it all again + extra 2-4 kg.
I literally can't exercise. I can't run for more than a few meters and then my lungs feel like their on fucking fire.
My parents are both fat and grew me to be the fat fuck I am. I have a severe case of inferiority complex and I suffer from social anxiety so going to the gym only gets me anxious and depressed because people...

or you could start smoking shard, that shit'll slim you down in no time
>>37454802
Literally just count calories you fat piece of shit
Don't want to? OK
If it has sugar in it, don't eat it
If it's mostly carbs (pasta, bread, etc) dont eat it
If you're hungry, good, means you're losing weight
Now read the sticky or get the fuck out
Considering Dolph, Sylvester and Arnold all blasted, how come they are completely fine now if roids are so dangerous?

Example of exercise used: bicep curl
Can anyone tell me the gains associated with:
1) lifting a dumbbell at the 90 degree angle and no matter how hard you push, it stays at 90 degrees.
So, say you picked up a weight for your curl (101% 1RM), you lift it to 90 degrees with two hands, then you let go one hand so your other hand has to do the work, but no matter hard you curl, it stays at the 90 degrees angle and after 5 seconds the weight starts pushing your arm down (like a forced negative)
What benefits can one derive from this? Or is it a one way ticket...

Also, this is different from arm curling a weight you're capable of lifting and just holding it in place because you choose to. The weight stays at 90 degrees during your curl while you push as hard as you can not because you're purposely keeping it stationary
>>37454753
I have no idea what you mean.
>>37454965
Like this. At the 90 degree mark of the curl is the most difficult. If the arm drops then the angle is over 90 degrees
If i were to jump on a trampoline everyday for 10 min. Would i lose much weight?
Or does it just help with leg muscles?
>>37454663
Yes
>>37454673

Like am i better off doing something else for 10min
(apart from going to the goym)
Jog.

maybe consider lifting
>>37454556
I do boxing, should I additionally lift?
>>37454571
you look like you dont do shit so yes
Alright /fit/, I'm graduating from SS to Candito's Linear, and I've used the SL app to track SS up until now. But that's not really applicable now, so I'm gonna make a spreadsheet to track my progress.
Only thing is, I have no clue what to include, or how to structure it.
I'm thinking the exercises along the left hand side, going down vertically, and the date going along horizontally at the top. THen under each date, a column for the weight lifted, and the reps missed.
THoughts? What do you guys include in your spreadsheets?...

>>37454469
What does it matter? Do you think the structure of your spreadsheet correlates to better gains or what? You just include the bare mininum that you want to track.
>>37454484
Because I'm gonna be on this program for at least a few months, and I'd like to be able to look at my progress by the end of it.
Besides, excel is crazy powerful, and a lot of people on /fit/ use it for this exact reason. I wanna see what I can learn.
>>37454502
Yeah, but you're asking for the "best" way to track progress when it's really just a matter of writing down your lifts every day. How autistic are you? Just make a date column, exercise column, sets/reps column and a weight column. BAM, you're done. If you're doing the exact same exercises every workout you write them only once, vertically for example.
Redpill me on sushi /fit/
I used to eat sushi once in a few months but for a few months now I've been working in a sushi restaurant. All the sushi that's left over at the end of the evening I can take home.
It's kind of hard to resist cause it's free and so fucking good

Great postworkout meal
eat till you get sick of it m8
stop using "redpill" wrong jesus christ
>"The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends that carbohydrates make up 45 to 65 percent of your total daily calories. So, if you get 2,000 calories a day, between 900 and 1,300 calories should be from carbohydrates. That translates to between 225 and 325 grams of carbohydrates a day."
The keto crew seem to disagree, but there is currently no long-term evidence supporting their belief that it's healthy to stop eating carbohydrates, and tbqh cutting out carbs just makes it harder to get enough vitamins, minerals, and lipids.

funny how the meme dieters only post in threads that support their beliefs
>>37454258
IMO a lot of normie's success from keto is simply due to a deficit, not any extra fat burning properties the diet entails. A lot of keto goers are sugar addicts. When they get that hit of dopamine when a sweet hits their lips, they have a very hard time controlling themselves. The keto diet never lets them have that, and so it's easy to stay on a deficit. Just look on r/keto and r/loseit how many keto goers "binge" after just a tiny relapse of the prescribed diet.
Fad diet? Sort of. More...

Can the body really function without carbs?
What happens if you do a carbs/proteins only diet?
