What kind of exercises can I do to strengthen my lower back/relieve the pain?
Activities that I can mainly do outside of a gym are preferred.
Also do I need to put my exercise ball on something when I sit on it? I heard it helps with lower back pain but my back hurts sitting on it now.

Hey guys, so this is my weight loss transformation so far. I went from 5'6 220lbs to 5'6 136lbs now...
My question is, why does it still look like I have so much fat for being only 136? I feel like I should be practically a skelly at this weight but I'm not. Is it because I was once so fat and now it's a combination of little fat and loose skin left that makes me look heavier than 136?

You can eat carbs as long as they fit your macros. If you cut carbs out, you will have a hard time lifting sonce your glycogen recovery will be slow af

I was in your exact situation a year ago.
I was fucking up my uni exams and only really enjoyed lifting. In my final year I worked hard and got a 2:1. I then managed to get my dream job.
Also I am 23 and went out with a 17 year old the other night.

What body type is attainable natty with good nutrition if you follow the stronglifts 5x5 routine?What's the best you can hope for before it becomes necessary to switch to something more complicated with more frequent workouts? Obviously it would vary from one individual to another, but, y'know, on average?

Since novice routines are only designed to last 3-9 months, you can't expect a HUUUGELY dramatic change in such a short time. You dont explode with muscle from touching a barbell. But you will get lotsa noob gains.
Depends on your starting point, but .5lb lean tissue a week is about the maximum you can expect as a natty
Also you can still workout the same frequency when you switch to intermediate routines.
Intermediate just means you need a week of training to progress (i.e. Make gains)
A novice lifter responds and adapts to each individual training session.
also you will want to do lower intensity, higher volume work, to progressively overload the muscles and stimulate growth, even when the muscles are too fatigued to progressively overload with intensity.
What about someone who already left skelly mode? I had gained about 20 lbs years ago, than wasted a couple of years doing brosplits with little to no gains, then had a break from lifting and got fat but retained most of the muscle. Now I want to lift again, is 5x5 a good choice for me? And if yes, how far can I get with it?

Make sure you are getting enough fat in your diet. Fat can help with mood stability. I get slightly more bitch mode on a cut regardless tho.
The trick is to always stay busy. Dont get bored. Thats when you think about food.
