Is it true fit that sleeping on a bed (like pic related) can hurt you back and fuck your posture ?
I'm planning to sleep on some thick duvet on the ground.
Also, posture thread.
I did that for about a year but had to stop because we had some mice take up residence in our house. I recommend it.
Depends on the quality of your mattress.

>mattress
pretty solid/hard. I'm making this thread because i've read something about it in a thread and my back begins to hurt.
What are your hobbies /fit/?
Looking for something to do in my spare time, as I just play video games.
>>32000655
Video games, /fit/, YouTube, gf
1. Lifting
2. Playing Harmonica
3. Learning to code
4. Learning norwegian
5. Learing some CAD programs
6. Reading books
I watch films.
I started doing this thing about 3.5 years ago where I watch a bunch of films from each year, starting with 1914, in chronological order. Currently on 1989.
Jaw general.
Pic related is mine when I'm doing a semi-duck face. Luckily I've not been plagued with a receding chin or a relatively weak jaw.
I've been looking to improve it. Any decent methods? Chewing gum, etc, I also read that resting your tongue in a certain position in your mouth helps.
All advice appreciated.

Pewdiepie?

Lol, kinda sucks tbh. I used to do it frequently so my resting state is awkward.

Is boxing a good way to get in shape if you're overweight?
I'm 5'4", 230lbs. Don't know how strong of a punch I've got, but I moved a 150+lbs TV up a flight of stairs on my own, without realizing that was apparently an impressive feat.
I should note that I know jack and shit about actual boxing, and that what I do know is probably outdated as fuck by about 30-40 years.
>Impressive
Wat.
>>31987063
I don't think it is, but people are always surprised that I was able to do that.
Bro. Lift weights.

This is me.

I have stopped fapping and now I feel no anger. I feel I am the calmest person ever.

>Falling for the no fap troll
lmfao this guy
I need 8 hrs sleep to function, but I always tend to stay up late. Last night I fell asleep at 4 and I just woke up at 12... I want to wake up at 8. Can anyone help me figure out how to make the switch? Alarms have little effect on me, since my sleepy asshole self just gets up, turns them off, and collapses back into bed. How do I change this?
>>32002432
Do deadlifts until you can't anymore, and low and behold.
cry more OP
you little bitch
Just get the fuck up.
I have a quiet alarm which I snooze then an annoying loud one 5 min later.
I don't know what you want us to tell you mate.

Opinions on this routine, /fit/?
Pic unrelated.
artofmanliness.com
>>31984999
dumbbell only routines will get you decent gains if you're a beginner, but using them is not comparable to using a barbell.
"dumbbell deadlifts", for example, are more of a squat than a deadlift and are NOT a replacement.
that being said, not gonna discourage you from trying.
>>31985024
What's wrong with it?
>>31985109
Well, I am a beginner (the only exercise I normally do is running). This won't set me up for some kind of failure eventually (like getting me into bad habits), will it?
Is power lifting and hard training in general compatible with long term health? so many of my child hood sports heroes (power lifters and fighters mostly) seem fucked up and a shell of what they used to be, what can i do besides proper nutrition, rest and yoga to make sure im still looking and feeling great at 60?
>>31975581
read blue zones
Inject hormones
>>31975581
Some amount strength training will improve your quality of life when you're older, and you are likely to live longer. However, being elite in any sport (powerlifting included) will have its health consequences.
Except you are probably weak as fuck and that's not a concern at all for you. Go get strong before you worry about the negative consequences of being "too strong."
Does lifting correct postural issues?
May have anterior pelvic tilt, weak glutes, and just some general posture problems.
Will lifting solve these? I don't want to get into stretching or any shit like that, just wondering if straight up lifting will have the side effect of fixing the postural problems?
>>31974629
No. It'll make them worse if you don't know what you're doing.
Google around a bit, they're easy to fix though. Anterior pelvic tilt for an example is caused by strong tight quads and the glutes, maybe hamstrings and abs being loose.
The obvious solution here is to stretch quads, build muscle in the abs, glutes and maybe hamstrings. Aswell as consciously making a posture change: Tense your abs, tense your glutes and maybe hamstrings. You'll feel your hips rotate forward. It'll...

Well I don't really know if I have it for sure. But I guess doing the steps to correct it won't hurt.
But you're saying if I just started squatting or deadlifting now a lot then it wouldn't help and actually hurt me?
>>31974774
>Well I don't really know if I have it for sure.
Do you sit a lot? 90% chance you have it.
If you wear a belt, does the belt buckle point downwards? If so, then you have it for sure (unless you're fat or something)
>But you're saying if I just started squatting or deadlifting now a lot then it wouldn't help and actually hurt me?
Aslong as you start fixing the issues as you lift, there'll be no problems with lifting...

It's almost nearing exam period here in the UK, I've copped Adrafinil, Alpha GPC and Sulbutiamine. I've already got Rhodiola and Phenibut and Caffeine/Theanine at 2:1 ratio. Was thinking of copping Bromantane and stacking it with Semax.
What is the boost Noot you've tried?
>Discuss.
caffeine
>>31938728
Ive been using phenylpiracetam it's pretty good I feel like it works better on some days than other though
>>31938732
It's time you've expanded your horizon mate.
>>31938785
I've never tried that, heard it's pretty potente in terms of stimumlative properties.
How do you prepare your oats for a good, healthy, nutritious breakfast /fit/?
I smash it into sand just like my enemies
I blend it with peanut butter, protein powder and a banana
>put oats in bowl
>mix up some milk and vanilla whey
>pour over oats
>eat
I hate cooked oats
Whats the best martial art to get in shape? Also general martial art thread.
boxing
Muay thai/kickboxing. Boxing is good, but boxers usually tend to have chicken legs, despite needing lower body strength to generate as much punching power as possible.
BJJ can help with balance, dexterity, grip strength and will help you make the most of whatever size you have by using leverage.
>>31963295
Judo and other grappling sports where you have to fling roughly your own body weight around.
Let's put it to rest /fit/. Are most of us lifting for strength or for aesthetics?
http://strawpoll.me/4152790
>But I do both.
Of course you do. A powerlifter's physique will improve and a bodybuilder will naturally get stronger, but both lift with completely different goals.
The point is to check what goal the majority of /fit/ has.
>>31969724
>Not lifting for strength
Then why?
