Going to the gym in 2 hours.

>iktf bro
I just started up again last Monday after being out for 4months. Don't get discouraged you are gonna be weak as hell. Just start slow and steadily improve. Goodluck bro and hope that cancer is under control.
>>35168613
Goog Gluck!
>>35168629
cancer is gone for good (I hope).
Yeah, gonna start slow. I'm gonna drop my upper/lower split and start with a beginner routine again, I'm horribly weak right now.
But gonna make it.
How much of gains and general fitness are hard work, and how much is just superior genetics? Seems like if your genes are bad, then the amount of work it would take to get hard-body simply isn't worth it. What's the work/reward cutoff, meaning, where does the required regiment simply becomes unsustainable?
>>35168576
Working out and eating right give you the best possible outcome from whatever genetics you were given.
Control the variables you can fucking control brah.
>>35168587
I am genuinely proud of this answer and whoever said it
>>35168576
the ability to work hard is a result of genetics
How was the gym /fit/?
>lots of qties and homos doing their yoga shit (15+)

What do you guys drink when you get tired of water?
I like to drink sweet tea or diet green tea.
sweet is cancer only home made tea and maybe some youghurt
>>35168409
cold green tea. you literally just put a teabag in a bottle/cup of cold water, and it never gets bitter so you can leave the bag in there until you are finished the drink.
>>35168409
The only things I drink are water, coffee and milk.

Only lazy neckbeards deny this.
All you hairmore pretty boys will never be taken as seriously as men with shaved or bald heads. Even with all the muscle in the world, you'll still look like feminine bitches next to a similarly jacked bald or shaven head guy. Every single person will always assume the bald or shaven head is more manly, tougher, and a better fighter. Every single person will always think the bald or shaven head guy is more masculine. The only people that will ever take you seriously are adolescent girls that watch twilight and harry potter.

New layout, The calculators for programs seem to no longer be broken, uses olympic lifts as an option and has at least one new program with the cowboy method.

Get a mirror, look at your body.
How to improve vertical jump besides power cleans?
Bulgarian split squat
Lunges
Jumping practice, odds are technique isn't where it could be.
You can slightly improve your vertical jump with box jumps/power cleans/squats and such, but there is no evidence of any training that increases vertical jump. As far as we know, you can't increase your ratio of fast twitch to slow twitch muscle fibers, and you therefore can't increase your Rate of Force Development, and you therefore can't jump much higher.

Are bench presses any different than pushups?
you can add weight
>>35167674
pushups are a much better exercise...
except unless you have a weighted vest or a training partner you can't add weight properly, making the bench press a much more practical exercise overall.
not to mention bench press is much easier to progressively overload.
i myself prefer pushups with band for that there serratus gains and shoulder health. all my barbell pressing is overhead.
>>35167817
Post a pic of your physique.
How do you get yourself out of bed in the mornings /fit/?

hi /fit/ so i'm trying to craft more of an hourglass body, and i want to reduce the size of my waist
aside from dieting, any ideas?
i guess i'm thinking something like this... my waist is about 29" presently, so if i could get down to 26 or less i think i'd be great
my waist is litterally the only part of my body i have issue with or want to change so i'm not sure how to resolve this
also, i'm mtf. I've been on hormones for 2 years
corset
If you still need to lose weight well, you know what to do.
Otherwise you can only minimize your waist so much because it is a function of the size of your ribcage. What you can do is try to broaden muscles that might create a more hourglass figure and try to avoid working your obliques if they respond well to training (not everyone gets thick obliques but some people do). They run up and down the sides of your waist so it is possible to make those muscles bigger to create a boxy appearance.
