Whats a normal, non-autistic way to respond to someone who compliments you on your gains?
"Thanks.. y-you too" apparently isn't.
These studies have been around for a while. Here's what the article refers to (it also confuses Austria with Australia)
They say vegetarians are more likely to be depressed (which sounds a lot worse when termed "mental disorder," making for good news headlines), but that it may be because depressed people are more likely to adopt healthier lifestyles practices...

You guys ever try light therapy to help with winter blues? Any results / stories?
I'm studying in Northern Sweden currently and have had zero motivation / sex drive the last few weeks, and now there is only ~4 hours of sunlight a day. Currently sitting in front of a light box right now that I purchased today.
I work in a lab growing plants in strictly regulated climate rooms. I certainly feel refreshed after a few hours in the daylight rooms (posting from dark scandinavia as well).
It's anecdotical as hell, but I feel it helps with the winter blues, and the light from light boxes are of a similar composition as our growth lamps.
I love all that plant light shit.
I've been tempted to get something like a philips hue bulb. There are a few colour changing ones that are cheaper that work on the same software I think. I've made my own led arrays before so I might try linking something up to the same system or something.
I'm finding it hard to eat healthy on the cheap. A typical grocery list for me is:
>chicken hotdogs, $1 pack of 12
80cal, 2g fat, 4g protein per weiner
>dried turkey sticks, $10 pack of 12
60cal, 1g fat, 4g protein per stick
>chicken breast, $8 for three big breasts
One of those breasts gives me two meals. I cut them into cubes and bread and fry them
>frozen mixed vegetables, $3 a bag
Lasts 3 or 4 meals.
>frozen broccoli, $3 a bag
Lasts 3 or 4 meals.
>giant cucumbers, $1 each
As a snack, 1 lasts me a whole day
>boxes of oatmeal, $2 a box of 12 packets
150cal, 2g fat, 4g protein a pack
My caloric intake is around 1200 a day, most of this is protein. I'm finding my diet is costing me $35 or so a week. I'm 5'7 female around 180lbs, TDEE is 2400. I go to the gym daily for cardio and lift three times a week (legs Mon, arms/shoulders Wed, chest/back Fri). I've lost about 3lbs a week since I started but is there anything here that can be improved?
Typical daily meals is:
Multivitamin, B-complex pill, 2 turkey sticks, 1/4 cucumber
2 packs oatmeal, chicken hotdog fried, 1/4 cucumber
Half chicken breast fried, chicken hotdog fried, 2 cups boiled veggies
>snacks throughout the day
Rest of cucumber, a banana or two
I'm poor so I'm trying to get what's inexpensive, but at the same time want to keep protein as high as I can.
Post body goals
Been using selsun blue for over a week now, closer to 2 weeks. And I still have dandruff. Background is I just started getting drandruff 2 months ago and I never had it in my life. I live in chicago so yeah its cold so I thought maybe it has to do with that. I am moving to tennessee in 3 days because it is a little bit warmer. Do you think that will help me? I am desperate because I have to wear a beanie everywhere as this dandruff looks bad on my darker hair color.
Mayo clinic has some advice on using it. It's usually worth doing a rinse and repeat and letting it sit longer.
If it doesn't work still see a doctor because you might have something else going on.
Hey /fit. I just started training, and wonder if anyone of you guys could give me a few tips. My weight is just around 233 Lbs and my goal is around 205. I want to get rid most of my fat is around my stomach area.

If you want to lift and run in the same day, what is the best way to nutritionally support this?
Should you just try and eat enough good carbs and protien to negate the calorie expenditure of your last work out?
Dont tell me to just not do it. There are NFL players out there who do this kind of stuff on the daily.
How long after you started lifting seriously did you realize you crave men?
I knew i lusted for the dick since i was 9, breh.
How do you take your oatz /fit/?
I like to toast mine in the oven with a couple of teaspoons of sugar. Makes em taste like granola
why do you retard americans always feel the need to heat them up?
when did you come up with this shit?
you can eat them cold like cereal.
Just use some yogurt/greek yogurt or whatever. Tastes fine.
Add Fruits and some cinnamon if you feel like it and go.
>I sprain my right shoulder while heavy benching. I've always been careful to set up properly. I always stretch prior and post workout, still this happened.
>Reading about Jim Wendler shoulder rehab. He went to shoulder surgery. Long story short: I wonder if this is avoidable as long time profesional lifters with great form also get injured.
>Good form prevents injury, but in the long run, we get injured nonetheless?
Talking about shoulder, when doing OHP i hear a cracking sound coming from my right should. I do proper form and even just with the bar my shoulder cracks. Should i stop doing OPH? Why does my shoulder crack?
Is it best to drink protein shakes before or after working out? Or both? How long before or after working out?
There was a study that effectively debunked the post workout anabolic window myth and showed that protein synthesis actually doubled if you took protein (subjects used 16g of 'high quality milk proteins') before a workout as opposed to taking protein after a workout which had a measly increase of 7%.
Unfortunately the picture was on my old phone so you might have to dig around on google.
