So I have a home gym, basic power cage barbell set up, I've started using my flat bench for box squats but my ROM is slightly above parallel due to the height of the bench. I'm looking at building my own box so I can squat deeper into it. I don't compete in powerlifting so I'm wondering if there is any reason I shouldn't do box squats 100% of the time. The worst negative I've read is spinal compression, any others? Any feedback is welcome.

Are you box squatting or squatting to a box?
Either way, it probably doesn't matter much. You can handle a bit more weight free squatting but box squats are easier to recover from (and thus you can push the volume a bit more) so its much the same in terms of results.

I use knee wraps if that changes your response. Also I'm not sure how box squats would be worse for knees...

I got pretty big into acro yoga this past 6 months and I love it, I also am just doing basic yoga poses. It's all amazing for flexibility and core strength.
Ashtanga yoga for the past two years. Incredibly powerful. Synergises amazingly with olympic weightlifting. Cannot recommend it enough - nobody listens to me when they ask how I'm so flexible, though.

I'm legitimately afraid to cut. I've permabulked my way out of bone demon mode over the past year or two and the thought of making no gains for months, and probably losing some, scares me.

the only advice I can give you is to be strong and ignore all of the sweets, cakes and alcohol and only eat the stuff that has some carbs and protein in it. But you probably will have to double your workout time

I'm thinking about joining the local boxing/sparring gym and signing up to fight some of those chumps, I love to fight. I went 8-1 when I was a teenager in an underground boxing ring.. we would sneak out of school at lunch and box in hella sketchy areas and winner by KO ... I only lost once by disqualification because we were at a beaners house as I was more focus on not getting stabbed than the fight, so i called it and left with my crew mid fight even though it was pretty much neck and neck ... who cares tho.
