How are you going to start this day /fit/?
Another blank day later and he thinks to himself "I'll start tomorrow". He feels warm and contented with the day's efforts.
I was just wondering when everyone liked to workout. Do you workout in the morning, afternoon, or the evening? Personally I like to workout in the evening, about two hours before I go to sleep, because it helps me relax and I sleep like a baby. Anyone else?
possible or unpossible? i mean it can be low carb but high protons diet

what mode is this?
I low bar squat but I was windering about Mark Rippetoes assirance that it has the most real world functionality. Think for example if you were pushing a beached boat out to the tide along sand. There's no way that the upward hip drive as used in low bar would be as effective has pushing with high bar style leg drive. The same goes for pushing pretty much anything.
Im thinking of swapping out to high bar, my ego will just have to accept the drop in my numbers, and surely deadlifts and other posterior work will train the hammies and glutes enough anyway?
All lifting has zero application to real life.
Sure you can squat 120kgs and deadlift 150kgs but when you need to lift something it doesn't come in a nice evenly distributed piece with the perfect place for you to grab it.
And if you're pushing anything you're supposed to do it with your back against it anyway or you'll mess up your back.
talking about "real world functionality" is silly. the difference between the two squat styles is that one places slightly more emphasis on the quads and the other places slightly more emphasis and the posterior chain. are you quads or posterior chain more useful for "real life"? the answer obviously depends on the exact movement you're doing, though the real answer is to get really fucking strong in either style.
>bench 110kg for reps
>squat 130kg for reps

Dear /fit/izens and health experts. How achievable is it to lose this gut in the next 5 weeks?
The girlfriend is coming home from a long trip in 5 weeks and I want to surprise her with being slim again. I'm willing to do it through any means necessary, so that includes starvation. I still have a gym membership but work times allow me to go a max of 2 times per week. Already considered starvation, up to a maximum of 3 apples per day. Any pointers would be appreciated.
eat 1400 cals per day, do 1 hour of cardio every day, lift every day. suppress hunger with black coffee, intermittent fast too if you can. every week drop the cals by 100. this is probably the most borderline safe and sustainable thing you can do for a goal like that.
i just found out that liver and chicken hearts are cheap as fuuuuuuuck and have a great calorie to protein rate.
any recipes you guys have here for those?
preferably recipes that dont up the calorie count immensely like deep frying or breading.
Well, that is true for liver, kidneys and things like that. I would say that eating that kind of food wont hurt unless you have it as a primary source of protein.
Heart, beef/pork tongue and lungs should be fine, they are pretty much like any other piece of meat.
And now for a recipe for liver (beef prefered, mainly for size):
1. Cut liver in slices (2-3cm)
2. Season on both sides and sear in a medium-high heat, about 1-2min/side.
3. Put in preheated oven, around 150C until 60-61C internal temp.
4. During this time, use a food processor (or chop finely) a handful of parsily, a clove of garlic and any other herbs you like.
5. Mix with a bit of olive oil and breadcrumbs. Spread it out eavenly on a tray
6. When liver is at 60-61, take out of the oven, brush with mustard and roll in the herb mixture.
7. Put it back in the oven and let it reach 65C internal temperatur. Serve with rice or vegetables such as steamed carrots and peas. Fried onions are GOAT to this as well. If bulkibg, serve with some slices of thick cut bacon as well.
plz share some of your healthy chicken breast recipes. doesnt matter if pan seared, oven baked or crock pot. need some new ideas and a little bit of variety!
I've been cooking a lot of chicken breast of late and am balls deep in a brutally deep cut.
I find the herbs and marinades you can buy in tubes (Garden Gourmet) are quiet tasty and turn a bland meal into something delicious.
Try mixing basil, ginger, garlic, lemongrass and chili - for your desired heat levels and marinade for as long as you like.
Bake in a baking dish with baking paper for 20 mins in a preheated oven on 200 degrees C. Let is rest while you steam your broccoli and your chicken will be soooo moist.
I was talking to someone in the gym who observed some youths, maybe 12-14, doing bench with <1pl8 and mentioned that they wouldn't let their children work out like that while the children were still growing.
This is an old wives tale, right? Weights won't actually make you shorter if you lift during puberty?
In addition to those two questions; is weight training even the best way to get ripped as a teen? I personally only did cardio and swimming until 18 and was never ripped or built to any real degree.
>This is an old wives tale, right?
>Weights won't actually make you shorter if you lift during puberty?
Yeah, it's an insane idea. If anything, the boosted hormones would increase height.
>is weight training even the best way to get ripped as a teen?
Genetics is the best, drugs are the second best. Lifting's the third best.
