So I just got in to working out seriously, and I've noticed my arms look a little weird, at least to me. The top picture seems normal, but when I look at my arm from the top it seems...flat. Is this normal? Or is there something I can do to make it thicker?

Look up how the tricep muscle looks. The lateral head is responsible for the "thickness" of the arm. You need to build the lateral head more. Tricep volume in general should do this. Do some extensions/skull crushers but watch wear on the elbow

Yeah pretty normal, won't look much better until you add significant mass. Cross body hammer curls are will help a bit and so will single arm hammer curls on the preacher bench.

Calves man. Look the most effective way to build calves is to go out and do shit. Calves are hard to train in the modern gym environment. But if you must, do single leg focused squats and Plyometric exercises.
Doing Sports drills and Picking up a martial art is still a far better option tho.

Is there anything good about shin splints? I know that they are a sign of overload and should be dealt with asap but any time I get them I wonder if my calves are getting stronger after each subsequent recovery. Is one less likely to get shin splints after damaged muscles get rebuild?
