Are your parents healthy, /fit/?
Do they lift or do some kind of physical activity?
I am trying to steer my mother into fitness.
She already does those "groups" where she jumps around for an hour, with maybe some weights and ab work. But she just wrecks herself and achieves nothing.
She is a bit fat (even though she weighs the same as when she was 20), has close to 0 muscle mass, no flexibility in the upper/back region and a bit of kyphosis.
I figured some very light lifting plus a lot of stretching would do the trick but she's stuck inComment too long. Click here to view the full text.

my dad used to be a rock climber of like 30-40 years or something until he fucked one of his tendons. he's basically popeye mode.
my parents are both fatasses.
I ended up being a fatass as well because "muh genetics" and "you are not fat, you are big boned like us".
Took the red pill few months ago and started counting calories, lost 30 lbs since then and still have 40 lbs to lose.
Meanwhile, my father (he is a retired cook) first tried to sabotage my new lifestyle, then started a huge fight. He doesn't speak to me since.
I don't give a fuck, they ruined my life once, not going to let it happen again. I live on my own now and cook my own meals. Left my...

also, good on you for trying to get your parents into fitness, but I don't think you should give up on your dad. like you said seeing his grandchildren could be an amazing thing for someone before they die, he wasn't always an angry alco right?

How do you take yours? With milk or with water? Plain, sweet or salty? With fruit or alone?
>>36628200
All I add is molasses and salt, sometimes I use milk, sometimes water. The oats in your picture are perfectly cooked, btw. That thick, porridge-y texture is fantastic. My last bowl of oats came out so shitty and watery I wound up drinking it more than eating it.
coconut or almond milk with flax seed sprinkled on top
Chia seeds and a hot cup of turmeric and black pepper tea.

What is he taking here? 500mg + some tren I would say?

i doubt they'd be stupid enough to give him super physiological amounts
it'll be the peptides and hgh he's taking

At one point in my life I thought body dysmorphic disorder was a joke and fucking crazy. Now I feel it's real, I constantly see so many flaws in my weight, muscle groups and shit. But when I'm training I constantly get admiration of physique and genes. Unfortunately, when I look at myself I see nothing of what they see?
Does anon ever feel that way? I'm constantly always just noticing things and I'm always thinking about the gym. I don't feel I'm obsessed but I feel like it's a lot to take on mentally sometimes.
>>36627996
Yes i feel the same.
Its weird, i know that i have huge arms. I know i look big and i know i got the shredz.
I get constantly mired in the gym. Everyone tells me i look amazing.
But when i look in the mirror, all i can see is too much fat and small arms.
It sucks anon. The mires i get are the only reason i dont lose my mind.
insanity. need to sleep night anon.

Y'all fucking suck. You feel you're not big enough, then get big. Your problems are fixable, maybe not easily, but still fixable.
Meanwhile people like me have terribly asymmetrical abs and bad insertions, which can't even be fixed with surgery.
Get bent ungrateful fucks.
Why does both SS and SL have you doing squats on every workout? I did SL for 5 months, had a break then for 2 months more to get back where I left and now I switched to a Push-Pull routine.
And it makes so much more sense to do squats on one day and deadlifts on the other.
My routine is basicly
A
3x5 bench
3x5 squat
3x5 ohp
+accessories
B
3x5 pullups
3x5 deadlifts
3x5 rows
+accessories
And it makes so much more sense. My deadlift went up 15kg almost instantly and my squats have stayed the same despite doing them only 1-2...

Anon says it makes much more sense!
He must be right!

Squat progress drives deadlift progress in beginners, but deadlift progress does not drive squat progress. That and SS is derived from sport training programs that consider squatting more important than deadlifting, for fairly good reasons.
Also you fucked up your arranging if you're still doing this AxBxA/BxAxB. Putting bench/press and chins/rows on the same day is exactly the same issue you're complaining about with squat/deadlift fatigue.
>>36627943
>And it makes so much more sense to do squats on one day and deadlifts on the other.
it does if you're lazy and would like to progress at a slower pace than optimal. SS is a squat, a press and a pull every workout. in theory it doesn't have to be a back squat every workout, and you don't have to alternate the presses. you could alternate front and back squats and bench every workout, for example. would that be "too much benching"? would your chest and arms...

I finally did it /fit/, I fucked my shit up.
Doctor said i have tendinosis, which is basically a degeneration of my tendon from repeated motions over long periods of time. My tendon is RIP and i have to take a break for 3 months.
Anyone else experienced this? I'm gonna start swimming for like 2 months instead. I can still do leg day doe.
Is swimming a decent alternative to back day?
Hit that butterfly

Make sure to do some activity to promote blood flow. Also look into PRP injections.
>>36628034
Also don't take nsaids as they will stop the long term healing process.
I just fucked up my shoulder big time, full recovery is expected to take half a year or more. I fucking hate my life right now, I can't even do squat for god's sake.
So I wondered, how can I maintain muscle mass or even build with a useless shoulder?
Legs. Literally every day.
what did you do anon

kinda pushy, but i need more
so feel free to suggest some good pumpin music
Drowning Pool - Bodies
>>36627724
I like "tough-guy" music when I workout, usually any of the death/hard/metal-core scene.
Doesn't have to be fast, but it needs that punch to the face brutality:

Why is walking so shit for calorie burning.
>>36627708
Because you hobble along with one foot always on the ground supporting your weight through one leg then the other.
because you were walking at a rate slower than that of most pre-pubescent children.
>>36627708
Because the human body is built for moving on two legs, conserving as much energy as possible?
Please tell me what I need to improve.

Hair isn't that bad short, you guys place way too much emphasis on hair. Men go bald, so what. I don't mind rockin the bic in a year.

Out of curiosity I wondered how you all felt about what you eat vs how much you eat
Ex. I know a few guys with low bfâ„… and sizable muscles, they eat McDonald's 4+ times a week however they make sure thier calorie intake is at maitence, ho what's /fit/s thought on this?

Calories in calories out
Holy shit, why doesnt anyone read the god damn sticky?
I am announcing my sage
"Health" is mostly genetic as long as you're not a dipshit (smoking / drinking a fifth of vodka a day) and even that is debatable.
Just calories in calories out, I cut with KFC and don't give a shit
>>36627127
>implying I haven't read the sticky
Hay jackass if I ingest 1600 calories of pizza and beer vs 1600 calories of fish and fruit i was wondering if the difference in nutrients and such would really make that big of a difference
hi /fit/
ive been noticing this weird line of hair thinning
ive never seen it before mainly because I had long hair, cut it shorter now, but its kind of visible.
Is this balding? I cant seem to find anything that matches this. thanks in advance

GF wants to get /fit. What do? No she wont go to my gym, but she wants me to come up with a routine for her. I have no idea how women should lift.
Squats, deadlifts etc. But what else? Loads of cardio and legs?
Pls halp
>gf won't go to the gym
>wants to get fit
tell her to pick one and tell us which one she picks
also post ass
>>36626671
She goes to a gym not my gym. I just added it so the whole "nevar bring yo gurl to da gym"-shit doesent start
Yesterday I went on a date with a korean girl and she grabbed my quads while we were sitting and said "wow your legs are very thin, you are so thin" yet I squat 120kgs and deadlift 160 on 5/3/1 program, mind that I am 6'4" with 75kgs around 8-10% bodyfat so that would make me skelly-ottermode borderline.
Give me tips how to handle this, get tree trunks legs and be alpha
T-thx fit
Keep squatting and deadlifting. It takes time.
im 5'7 and 78kg and prob around 15% or so BF.
what mode am i?
keep eating and lifting and try not to kill yourself
i started a year ago at 5'7 53kg and now i'm 5'7 70kg
