How bad the "higher tier" mall brands actually are compared to H&M, Zara and other fast fashion garbage. Am I only paying for name? I know they use third world countries for manufacturing but the materials used and general construction should still be better right? The fabric and construction are going to be demonstrably better than H&M and Zara because those two brands are particularly awful.
That said, the delta between brands like BOSS and generic mall-tier shit like J.Crew is actually quite low. Frankly, there's a sort of upper limit to fabric/construction quality for ready-made stuff. There's also the reality that - as you identify - many popular fashion houses use cheap shit now because they can - the goddamn rich Saudis will pretty much buy anything...
