Hi /fa/, I need some help. I'm in Year 12 and I've got the formal coming up soon.

I turned 18 in October, calm down.
So, I've never worn a suit before, unless you want to count the one time I wore one to a funeral when I was in the 6th grade. I'm not sure what kind of suit to wear, and how I can get the best fit.
I'm pretty fat (85kg/187lbs), and pretty short (5'7), so I'm not sure how a well a suit will fit me. I don't want to get one that's too loose on me, but...

The little bit of extra expense won't really be too much of an issue, but I won't be able to pay for a suit that's over $500 as I'm still a teenager who doesn't have a job.

My question is are those types of shoes like skating shoes and running only used for those specific events? or can I wear a skating shoe casually?

sure, depends on the occasion. If youre going to be doing alot of walking, get a pair of running shoes. If youre going to run some errands get a casual shoe. dress shoes etc

Is it normal for jackets like this to fit snug but the sleeves are a bit long. Like the cuffs of it reach my knuckles.
