I need this cable for my cctv system. The yellow is coax for video and the other part is for power. My question: are power cables (red and black) graded specifically for AC or DC?
I need to power my camera with 24vac but the reviewers on Amazon keep saying it's for DC cameras.
Wires are rated for voltage
They dont give a shit if its AC or DC they just conduct
So if the wire can handle the peak voltage present In The system your golden

Thank you.
But I'm looking at something like this: >https://www.surveillance-video.com/accessory-st-pmj60b.html/
and it doesn't mention any voltage tolerance. Do I just assume that it can handle at least 24vac?

That's what I always thought, but seeing the description of "DC Power Cable" and all of those mouth breathers on Amazon calling it a DC cable made me question it.

You're going to be waiting a while. More than 9.5 hours at that rate.

cable size is determined by the expected current flow, cable insulation is rated by voltage. cctv=low current. it will handle 24vac no problemo
