When building a wall you start with the studs, then add external plywood, fill the space in with insulation, add internal plywood, put house wrap on the outside and then put put on the siding right and whatever internal finishes you want right?

For roofs you build the structure, add external plywood insulation, internal plywood, tar paper and then shingles right?

Is that not a thing?

I think what he means is that in most cases, you only have plywood on the outside. And on the inside you just have your drywall. Only in extreme cases, like if you are expecting significant wind shears, or you have a lot of very large windows would you have to seriously consider using plywood on both sides of your framing.

Its probably another name for Marine Plywood

Marines use guns though?

go to a library, check out books on building houses, read them

I have a friend who wanted to take out an interior wall. Interior as in not even connected to an outside wall. He found out that wall was plywood on both sides because it was designed as a shear wall. He had to find the original architects and hire an engineer to find a way to do what he wanted. In the end it turned out alright but he was way over budget.

Earthquake engineering, serious business.

Haha, that's a good point, I'm in the Midwest so here we never even think about earthquake design, the only shears we really have to worry about are wind. If OP is in a place with seismic concerns they might need to be more careful with how they handle their shear walls.

first you pour your concrete founds. check with your structural engineer about the ground your building on
then you lay blockwork, remeber your ties!
then the facing brickwork leavong a gap. fill the gap with insulation if you so wish.
then simply plaster over the blockwork on the inside.

then your house won't blow away.

studs, then sheathing(OSB), stand it up. top plate all the way around. House wrap, siding, insulation and drywall comes later, windows and doors before wrap and siding. Rough in comes before insulation and drywall.

>roof
roof is ridge pole then rafters(or trusses), then sheathing(OSB). then drip edge, tar paper, ice-dam, vents, shingles, and cap.

What kind of infill would one use for a post-&-beam cabin? I was considering pumicecrete -- 4 parts volcanic ash (which you can shovel into your truck for free where I live) and 1 part Portland cement. Then perhaps stucco it to make it look nice.

This. And in this order. You don't want to put in the inside walls (insulation, sheet rock, etc. while breezes can still blow weather through the walls.
