I'm building a weight driven pendulum clock for meme reasons. Does anyone here know how many revolutions the mainwheel spins per minute or whatever in a 24 hour clock.
Also are band saw blades good enough to make a clock spring out of if the weight thing turns out to be shit?

Well the minute hand turns at one rpm. Do gear math, it depends on what the other gears are.

Good point.
Even if the weight only falls a yard, I can have the escapement to tick every second and then gear ratio it. Assuming my weight has enough energy to overcome friction and shit.
Like a 4 slug mass.

And of course I misspoke. The second hand goes at 1 rpm, the minute hand goes at 1/60th rpm.

>bandsaw
the recoil starter spring from a trashed yard tool would be a more sensible choice since it doesn't turn into a hurricane of saw teeth when it gets loose.

you know what i never see? a block and tackle driving weight
if this is an original idea you all owe me $$$ btw
