I love to woodwork. Been making my own furniture. I live in an apartment and I can't make noise. I've been using grandparents small backyard for powertools. But I know they don't like it, but let me and it's a drive there. Was thinking about renting a workshop with two other relatives. $400 each, only two blocks away from my apartment.
My apartment is too cramped with tools.

I don't feel safe leaving my large table saw, miter saw, lathe, drill press outdoors at my grandparents. I hate to leave my projects outside, overnight, after applying a coat of oil or varnish.

Anyone have any experience renting workshops to store tools and work on projects? Pic related, something similar to this.

Seems pretty expensive. I know a guy that rents out a storage unit and does all his work there for less that a hundred a month. I'm sure most places wouldn't let you do that depending on where you live but that's what I would try if I needed space.

It kind of is. I live in CA, everything tends to be more out here. This shop is actually one of the cheapest I could find.
I was thinking of a storage place idea like you said. The four I looked at had specific rules prohibiting using it as a place to work.

occasionally but not everywhere you can ask if they have or know of units with power outlets that can be used as workshops. usually independent storage units
