I was given a tin of left over paint by a family member that

I was given a tin of left over paint by a family member that I used to paint the inside of a small closet for towels and bedding, it looks nice.

Afterwards though among the dried up paint on the tin I noticed it was for wood and metal, should this be fine?

I forgot to mention this isn't a stand alone closet, it is part of the wall therefore made out of plaster, no wood in sight.

Paint is paint, manufacturers just modify some of the ingredients and properties to make it more suitable for the element they're being applied on. Even if the paint is not 100℅ recommended for that job, drywall will take almost any kind of paint as long as it is applied properly.
