How can I tell how thick my apartment dry wall is without cutting out a part of it out?

I need to buy the correct size Molly bolt anchor.

Make a gauge out of a bobby pin or something.
Like make a small hole, the straighten the bobby pin out.
Create a square bend at the end, then once you have it in you can mark the pin. Pull it back out and measure it

Use toggles or sleeves, instead. Then it doesn't matter whether your drywall is 1/2" or 5/8".
