hey guys, new homeowner looking for drainage help. i have an area along the side of my home where water is puddling. i know it needs to be regraded. can i do this tonight or will i have to wait for dry conditions. i dont want to do a half ass patch job but we have a break in the rain coming soon and i want to solve this tonight

First, I would suspect that window.
Second, since the ground level is so close to the bottom of the window, dumping more dirt onto that area (which would be the cheapest, easiest, fastest way), is out of the question.
Now, it is entirely possible that the planter box itself (because of the soil being so permiable by water), is causing the issue.
This appears to be an older house? So I'm assuming no externally discharged weeping tile system? Do you have a sump pump? Is it working?
Considering your situation OP, I foresee excavation equipment in your future.
