break open cassette, take reels and tape out, find a sacrificial blank that assembles with screws, take apart blank, transfer the original tape to the blanks' shell. be sure to puth the plastic sheets back because they reduce friction.

it does look like OP did everything wrong in taking that pic: huge light reflection, tons of background info including an ogre's foot, bad angle. it's the kind of naive photo you expect to find on a kid's camera.
