Anyone here a home inspector? How did you become one? Im seriously considering quitting my apt maintenance job to do this. Tired of busting my ass for little pay. Good with hvac and pools and have a detailed eye.

As long as you have a certification go ahead. Can't do it in most places if you don't have one.

Look up stationary engineer jobs.

Why would OP want to design pens and note pads?

Back when I seriously, seriously disgruntled with a former job, I looked into being a home inspector. I seem to recall online classes. Thank God they fired me because it led to me finding the exact same job but for 25% more pay and full benefits.

Fuck that old job.

THIS
A stationary engineer "maintains" boilers and chiller systems while doing little maintenance on the side. I'm a pipe welder working for a boilermaking business and most of our out calls are from businesses stationary engineers crying for help for us to fix their shit. All I ever see them do is watch us work and drink from their coffee cup. I get paid 30/hr as a pipe welder/boiler repairman, the last stationary engineer I spoke with works for the Houston Police DPT and he told me he makes 22$ so LOL but yea. he doesnt do shit. He was a 1st grade stationary engineer (highest)

Yup, this true.
Have had a chiller replaced in building.
But it's a fun job, and its city code to have a engineer on site for boiler and chiller operations.
