ok, I'm getting sick of this: where the hell can I find a 1 inch lock/shank/lever/slipjoint/wtfidk kind of nut for a plumbing fitting to go over a 3/4 nipple? I just need a low profile nut for a little plumbing job.
Have been to Lowe's, HD, Ace, nobody has anything.

You have to give us more than that. If you tell us what you're trying to do, what the specific purpose of the piece you're looking for is and maybe even draw us a diagram of what it's supposed to look like we might be able to figure out what the hell you're on about.
Are you looking for some kind of 3/4" coupling?
Don't know if it would be the same thread but you might try an electrical conduit locknut.
