Hey /diy/ I accidentally cut my self with a knife like a dumbass and I don't know if I
should use hydrogen peroxide or not

No, rubbing alcohol.
HP isn't that good of a disinfectant. Dettol or iodine tincture.
If it's got crap in the cut, hydrogen peroxide can help clean it out. Otherwise just use a disinfectant and/or some antibiotic cream

You use saline for cleaning wounds, iodine and disinfectants for cleaning skin around wounds and hydrogen peroxide for removing dead tissue from wounds that are healing. I live in the tropics though so i just let flies clean up the dead skin and scabs.

They are both good. Hacked into my finger real good couple weeks ago. Healed up real good with mostly HP.

I recall reading something a while back that suggested you should only use topical antiseptic ointment and debriding agents, or alcohol will only damage tissue further.
Anyways an old trick for clean knife cuts my father used is to clean the area with water, squeeze out some blood and any foreign matter, then seal up the cut with super glue. It is a perfectly good surgical glue. so you can use that.
