When I was poor and moved out of a apartment that I knew would get me for my security deposit, I worked out deals like painting walls, labor to replace carpet, recaulked bathroom and kitchen, and one time mowed. A part of it was also the apartments using cheapest fucking fixtures, materials, and paint possible.
But I was poor because I poured 100% of my money into college, not poor because I was a stupid asshole.
