so.. I just found this but the charger doesn't work and I was wondering if I could make it usb any tips? warnings?
also this I think it might be important
Probably the easiest thing would be to just cut the wire off the charger and solder it to a male usb to make a cord.

Charger is 5.2v, usb is 5v
Should be no problem with just cutting the lines and splicing them together

Are you sure its the charger and not the gameboy that isn't working?

yes I'm sure the gb works fine (my friend had a charger and I test it with it) also this are the usb cable(right) and the charger cable (left) I imagine is black(usb) to copper(gb) and red(usb) to green(gb) right?

Yes

Before you solder it up, connect the bare wires to see which ones are positive and negative.

the red and black wires in the USB cable carry the voltage for the device. the other 2 are the data. as long as OP hooks up the polarity properly it should work fine.

It works!!!
first usb was too thin and the wire melted
I use a second usb cable and it works !!
thanks /diy/ first post here you are awsome! :D

Glad to see that it worked OP. One note, though. The original charger was rated for 5.2 volts, where as USB only delivers 5 volts. This won't really be a problem, but you will always be .2 volts away from full charge

This will actually increase the life of your lithium battery a lot. Up to 4x whatever life is left in it
