I regular receive promo material from auto manufacturers but this one was different. A mobile video player with a few surprises.
lets take it apart for repurposing or spares.
It plays a 20min comercial
came with cable, 212mb storage capacity, plays up to 720p mp4 and avi
no much going on so far
5in TFT,
hal effect sensor on/off
play pause button
speaker
1000mah battery
and 20 something unused GPIOs
aha, a atj227 chip, turns out they are fairly capable. Built in ROM for system boot, spi interface, and many more.

Any interest to pursue further?

Meh, pretty useless by today's standards. Low res, no storage, no real useful projects off the top of my head. Maybe some sort of looped graffiti box.

Interesting to see if you can get anything else playing on it at least.
why do you receive promo material from auto manufacturers?
did you receive a disposable video player that just plays a lincoln continental ad?
are there any demos of this you tube?

It can play other movies.
This thing is essentially a gimped Gemei HD8800 or Joyou A320 (bootleg MAME/Ps1 handheld). Still hackable though, through ATJ boot tools - will update if successful.

>1. dont be NEET
>2. dont have NEET adress
>3. be on database of people who buy $50k+ cars..
>4. easiest way to obtain #3., actually buy $50k+ cars new.
>5. register at main dealers as intertested in $50k+ cars.
etc. - dunno which of these, if any, OP has done tho. But in general, assuming those Promos are maybe costing $100 a shot (with ALL costs factored), this times 10k or whatever - they generally want them landing by non-NEETs who actually buy $50k+ cars.

put boku no pico on it and send it back to them

Nice catch but not so amazing. Cheap 7" android tablets can be had for $40 on aliexpress, so the manufacturer cost is probably only $12-$15 or so, and you can buy cheap China android phones now for $25.
What message do you get when you plug it into a PC? Is it a recognized device?..... :o

A number of years back a local grocery store did a test-marketing thing where they had little video screens on the store shelves for ~3 months.... They had a screen placed about every 8 - 12 feet apart.
The screens looked about like 3.2" size, and were color w/sound. They were mounted to the shelf edges in front of some products. Each had a motion sensor and when you walked by they would start playing a little video commercial for the item they were in front of.

You never had any other choice OP

This, don't forget to leave some kind of suspicious stains on the display.
