I noticed that some really old videos has suddenly got 720p and 1080p quality in the video player... does anyone know how to do this? I have a couple of videos from 2008 that are in 480p, and would like to re-master them (lol)

YouTube would have to have the original raw upload to reprocess, which is unlikely, as they only need the processed video.

Did your internet connection get better? Youtube defaults to lower quality if you're connection is too slow to stream high.
