New fag to /diy/ searched and couldn't find anything in the catalogue related to machining, cnc, cad, milling, or lathe.
Looking for some info on building my own CNC mill and lathe.
3 axis minimum for the mill is a must.
Workspace needed is 1m-1m-0.3m / 36"-36"-12' maximum
I'm looking to work with aluminum and wood, occasionally small steel parts, but it doesn't need to run fast.
I'd like to do this as cheap as reasonably possible to achieve 0.005" / 0.127mm accuracy.
I'm happy to splurge a bit on ball screws...

2.) What is your budget? "Cheap as possible" is relative; the one I built has similar-ish work volume to what you want and was much cheaper than a commercial equivalent, but it still ended up totaling around $2000.

Current tooling is literally nothing.
I've got a decent set of basic mechanic tools from when I had worked as a dealership mechanic before getting back into IT, so some air tools, cordless ryobishit drill, hand tools.
I do have access to my father in laws tools, one of which is a jigsaw, but his is mostly carpentry stuff and painter stuff.
Budget would be preferably under $3k

I have this old Bose boombox that sounds better than anything I've ever heard for its footprint (Bose AW-1). So I still use it by hooking it up to my phone with the aux jacks in the back. Works great in my bedroom.
Problem is my Kill-a-watt tells me that the boombox consumes a steady 40 watts when it is turned on, even when it's not playing anything. So I always have to remind myself to flip the power to off when I'm done with it. If it sucked only a few watts while idling I wouldn't mind leaving it on all the time. This has been bothering me for way too fucking long. You see this megaman light capsule? I've been trying to figure what exactly is projecting Dr. Light onto the glass.
I would assume it is either a hacked pico projector with a rapsberry pi, smart phone or some sort of LCD screen projected with a backlight given its 6" by 6" size, but the form factor is really throwing me off.

It depends on what is probably clogging the drain.
The proper time to do something is when the drain begins to empty slowly, and don't wait until it's totally clogged.
My issue is usually cooking grease, even tho I don't pour any down the drain. It still builds up like once a year or so.
