Okay /diy/, i need your help. I am currently building a MKARS80 transceiver, and ive got a problem with the transformers. I build it to learn more about electronics and ham radio, and yeah, i know, not the best project for a newfag. So, first problem: What is the difference between windings & turns? 2 Windings with 3 turns. So i take one wire, turn it 3 times around the core, and then i take a second one, and turn it 3 times from the other side on the core? Other question pic related.
>>932599 When I see the extents of PC cooling systems today, it seems almost like a cry for help. We are reaching the practical limits of silicon and this is the last, desperate push to squeeze the remaining 1% out of it.
How do I install mortise hinges? I got them for looks and the appeal of being able to take shutter off without unscrewing hinges, but the Amazon seller didn't include instructions. My windows are smallish pella vinyl. Planning to make shutters out of tongue and groove boards but haven't decided if I'm putting them inside or out yet, I'm probably going to have to put them inside since the window sticks out like an 1/8" out from the exterior trim boards
>>933357 yes, especially if you use a microcontroller or raspberry pi. Capacitors cost like nothing man. Oh an the L239D is a motor controller, it amplifies the signals from the raspberry pi into something that can power a motor.
If you have acces to a wood lathe, i would sugest you cut the diameter to about 4 inches in diameter. round up the tip, and dont forget to sand it to a high finish. That being said its probbably cheaper and easier to just buy a dragon dildo
>>932820 Depends on what you mean by "get into robotics"
If you mean as a hobby programming little toy arms they probably sell some you can program in python or use some sort of interpreter.
If you mean as a robotics programmer for industrial robots, read this article (http://robohub.org/the-future-of-robot-off-line-programming/) and then decide if you think you can gain the skills required. And it will probably be too expensive for you to do as a hobby.
If you mean how difficult is it to make... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I have 12 G. of ram total. System specs say I'm using up 11 G. of memory. All my programs running, free space, and mapped memory dont even add up to 2 G. let alone 11. Computer is relatively new. Mostly AMD with a Gigabyte motherboard (all compatible). What can I do anons?
>>932418 Err... RamMap is built to do exactly what you're asking us to do for you. RamMap lets you see which processes are using which blocks of memory. I suggest you go read it's FAQ, learn to use the app, work out which processes are eating your memory, then think about whether you need them running or not.
I recently moved and the cabinets had an awful 3 layers of black paint, no primer. On certain areas when I strip it the grain seems to literally peel off making it look like plywood like pic related. How can I fix this and continue stripping?
Hey /diy/, I usually go to the technology board but this has been a question for a few days. So my neighbor across the street decided to start welding shit and I'm worrying about my son's eyes. He likes to play on his bike during the day, which is also when my neighbor decides to weld. The dude has a welding mask, but doesn't take care to stop the bright light. How far can I be without damaging my eyes? I'm assuming it won't affect us too much, but it's annoying to tell my son to stop and turn around when he gets halfway around the cul-de-sac.
Trying figure out what this tool is. I know it's a monkey wrench and an alligator wrench combined but i can't find any like this for sale anywhere. Is there another name for it? How much do these cost?
I'm trying to set up another horn in my car, and I have a few questions. Firstly do I connect the power supply of the relay (terminal 30) to my cars fusebox or the batterys postive terminal? Also how would I set it up so that I have it connected to a switch that selects between my old horn and new horn. Pic related
Terminal 30 should go where ever it's easiest to get voltage. But, I would find a switched fuse block not being used. Either you have a second switch or have a 3 way switch so you can use your steering wheel's default horn location.
