I need a soldering kit for some small electronic stuff.

What soldering iron kit is good?

I guess it depends on the complexity of your projects, your budget, and how often you'll be using it.
>>
>>943825
small projects, rare to casual usage, mostly to just fix things not build things
>>
>>943826
In that case, I might recommend something such as a 30 watt soldering iron. Perfect for light duty/casual use.

claymore mines come in green and blend in with nearby foilage. that should handily pet proof your porch.
>>

well that.s much better than my caltrop suggestion. Dont forget to scotch guard to prevent those nasty pet stains on the wood.

How hard is it to make your own motorized backets for digital panels?

I have two ideas for what I want, but I can't actually find the designs that I have in mind for sale.

I want to have a a bracket that can hide behind ceiling panels and fold down then lower to a comfortable viewing height, I can find brackets that do one or the other but not both.

I also want one for a desk that holds three monitors and a tv bracket above that, hooked up so the side monitors can rotate to be flush with the wall, then the tv can swing forward and down so it can be at a lower more comfortable angle for viewing.

Only the ceiling one needs to be motorized though, because the room has 10 foot cielings and I want a way to mount a tv above the bed comfortably, the desk+wall mount would be easily done with just something you could move around by hand, which would make construction simpler.

Why even bother making one, when you can buy a better one? Just go to bestbuy and get one.... Poorfag

Because I can't find designs that do what I want? I state that in the second sentence of my post.
>>
>I can find brackets that do one or the other but not both.
find and purchase bracket 'function one'
find and purchase bracket 'function other'
bolt bracket 'function other' to bracket 'function one' = complete new bracket 'function one & the other'

Everthing you are looking for exists, just, join the dots. Motorised platform riser that supports a fold-out bracket is gonna have to be pretty heavy duty/expensive tho, they exist for projectors, but, depending on TV size, you may...

One of my friend got that nasty surprise coming home one night.

I suppose getting a new door would be the most cost-effective solution, but I don't know much about wood repairs.

Any input ?

Door is fucked. Not even worth considering fixing it.

Dog is going to just beet doing it so you will need a metal door and the dog will just scratch it to hell.

I can't figure out what's wrong here, can anyone weigh in?

The tap runs on super low pressure when turned to hot, but normal on cold. It was normal for both temps and everything in between up until recently.

Can't figure out what's up.
No blockage in tap as cold comes from same place.
No blockage at tank as other taps are fine.
Stopcock is open.

Are there user serviceables in there like o-rings that go bad, or should I just buy a new fitting? Fuck it if I do

maybe check and see if your water heater has an expansion tank or PSI regulator on it?
>>
>>941116
Prime culprits are the faucet itself (open it up, check seals, blockages, etc) or the hot water feed line/feed valve. The feed will be under the sink and should have a valve to turn it off, hot will be on the left if it was installed correctly. That will let you check the line. Next culprit is the valve itself, which may not be opening fully. It's not hard to replace, but will require turning off your master water supply for a while. Final culprit is the faucet itself, which will be the hardest to fix because you'll...

Ok, so, can I use a T in place of the Y in this picture?

On the left side of the Y in the diagram is a toilet, tub, and sink. On the right side of the Y only three sinks are tied in. The line is a 3" line.

With proper slope of the two lines mentioned above, the Y or T will be about 2 feet off of the ground, angling downward into the field line.

I've read using Ts in place of Ys can cause slowdowns/clogs but all of the solid waste was having to go past that ridiculous curve anyway and from what I've read, that mainly is referring to directional...

Left and right are feeding into the bottom?
I would prefer a tee there, y only makes sense if the bottom line was feeding into the flow from left to right or right to left in op.

It can be as simple as sticking a piezo disc on the round metal cannister. the springs seem to be mounted in a way that they will all vibrate differently into the disc when struck.

hard to say without seeing more of it, or hearing it.

depends on your goal. going to be tough to be under budget if you want to filter out all the fine dust that fucks your lungs. if you just want chip collection that means you don't have to sweep as much, easy.
>>
>>943712
what is a realistic budget for getting the fine dust?
>>
>>943718
So basically the filter is the expensive component. You're wanting to capture shit that's less than 10 microns at least down to around 2 or 3 microns...it's safest to just say screw it and go straight to HEPA at this point.

Everything else is just making something to put the filter in to force air through and the hoses to hook it up. You can be as fancy or as ghetto as you want so long as you've got a good seals. Let's call this around $50.

The deal with filters is you need one...

Possible?
yes
Economically viable?
not if you're posting on /diy/
>>
>>943050
/diy/ is probably the richest board after /g/ The average person with a workshop or RC hobby is a middle-aged professional
>>
>>943054

What I meant by economically viable is probably not possible without a corporate budget.

Yet..

Plus for long flight times a multirotor is the worst choice because it's terrible inefficient which is why no-one has built one with a reasonably long flight time, lrn2 helicopter if you want longer flight times.

Stompbox thread.
So, I've tried to do the Keeley Mod on the Boss DS1 and it turned out quite well for being my first 'diy pedal mod'.
But for some reason, the next day it stopped working. The On/Off LED works well, but there isn't any sound coming out of it, even when it's bypassed. I suspect I might have burned something because I used a daisy chain without the adaptor to power it(I feel so stupid desu)
So since this is a very common guitar pedal and a very common mod, I was wondering if you could help me identify what's wrong with the circuit.

Oh sorry dude, first timer here .
Brb gonna take pics of the board.
But it isn't a fault of the things I've done by modding it. I just think I burned something in the board by using a wrong power adaptor.

Just bought a 4x8' CNC router,
Right now Im trying to outfit a shop, we have about 5k left in our budget and want to set ourselves up with what we need.

Basic questions are

1, what spec PC is required for operating the machine, (machine is industrial cnc, Industrial being the brand name) am looking to be able to make quick edits on files at the machine.

2, what are the basic bits necessary to hit most materials, would be willing to spend about $1000 for an assortment, primarily cutting sheet good, ply, acrylics and some hardwoods.
