Step one, gather this materials:
-OP
-Big black dildo
Step two, put in a room together
Step three, ???
Step four, congratulations, now you have a peerpetuum mobile, attach generator to harvest the energy and power your house with clean fag energy.

Since Unicorns are extinct you can't get the most important ingredient therefore you can't build one. Same goes for time machines and wish machines.
Now go take your meds.
I have a problem /diy/. Something that vexes me and I need your help. Long story short, hard time for me and my family. I live with my mother who is on disability, I commute a long ways to a shitty job. I am poor, she is poor. The house we live in is only 90% finishes. Problem is there is no hot water tank and no bonus room or laundry room to fit it. The water manifold is on the outside of the house in a little box with a hinged door on it and a but load of insulation. The house is really a 800 sq foot apartment in a metal hangar. The hangar is uninsulated and will likely be...

What about a tankless water heater?theyre under 200 bucks and mount pretty much anywhere.i get that youre poor but seems like a reasonable purchase to save up for.
>>957687
Well my issue is I have no idea how to install it indoors. How could I do it safely without killing myself or others? Proper venting, plumbing etc.
>>957690
I believe theyre very safe.we have one mounted right in the bathroom at my job for a sink and shower.water heaters arent usually vented for exhaust gases.the tankless units i referred to are about the size of a microwave oven.walmart sells them.im not sure about propane option but my guess is that theyre available.

DIY, What's the best way to keep these fuckers from shitting all in my garage?
cats, snakes, or poison
Bumping out of interest.
Hey guys, I have a sealant gun but no nozzle for the cartridge, and on Sunday all the shops are shut.
1) Do I *need* a nozzle? The thing in sealing doesnt have to be neat, it just has to stay stuck.
2) If I do, can I just tape a cupcake icing nozzle onto the end of the cartridge as a makeshift replacement?
What shit did you buy without a nozzle?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001GU6CNM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
It didnt come with a nozzle, even though the picture shows one
I would complain, but I have to get this project done by tomorrow so theres no point - I wouldnt have time to get a new one anyway
There is a review on amazon that has the same no nozzle complaint as you.just cut the tube open and brush the shit on with something.
So, I'm wanting to make a bench power supply out of an ATX PSU I've got laying around.
I'm already pretty familiar with electronics and wiring and all that so I know how to do this safely, but there's one thing I haven't been able to figure out. What would I use the -12v rail for?
>>957215
>What would I use the -12v rail for?
Circuits that require a split supply, like op-amps, or RS-232 drivers.
>>957221
Ah, okay cool. Thanks anon.
>>957215
You should also bring out the +3.3V rail, and for bonus points, if you dig into the supply itself and find the feedback divider, you could put a potentiometer in there and have some variability of the outputs. You could also cut the sense line connections on the power supply PCB and bring them out to binding posts as well, jumpering them to the appropriate output for run-of-the-mill applications, but allowing you to have remote sensing for high current-draw applications, so the supply would automatically compensate for line loss.
Hey guys
I just bought this off craigslist for $80. Owner said he never plugged it in (kek ok).
I just plugged it in and it doesnt do shit. Where do I start trouble shooting?
I'd start with that huge wad of tape. a bad connection is the easiest and cheapest possibility and you'd need to replace that horrible cord to operate it safely anyways
>>957009
See if there is a model or chassis number and a manufacturer on it somewhere. I Will see if I can get you some more info.
Don't get your hopes up that unit was made in germany and crouts make some complicated and annoying to work on equipment.
How do I convert a garage into a man cave? Is it something easy I can do myself or need to hire people for?
>>957000
Depends.
What do you wanna do?
Do you have any tools?
Did you have a father growing up?
>>957000
All it takes to convert anything into a "man cave" is to buy tacky ass "masculine" versions of the hobby lobby decorations.
They are great to let everyone know how much you fall into pop cultures idea of masculinity!
>>957000
The term you are looking for is a cuckshed.
just got this mill last month,
seems to be a good piece of metal,
post your machines ITT
Run of the mill Bridgeport with a 48" table hooked up to a Prototrack MX2 2 axis controller.
I also run a 42" brideport with a Prototrak EMX 2 axis controller and a 48" Prototrack DPM2 with the SMX 3 axis controller.
Look what I just got guise! It's pretty much my first power tool, except a Dremel. I'm chuffed and can't wait to use it!
Wondering how it's made?
How can i make one ?
Order from China.
Or 3d print a high resolution positive, make a silicone negative, and pour molten PVC in it in two parts.
>>956803
With great difficulty unless you have a CNC.
op do you already have one or access to one?
if so then it will be easy as fuuuuck
the original was probably injection molded, but thats fine you can make one easy
k so take original
make a mold negative using silicon or just press it into a block of clay
fill the triumph part with blue flexible casting plastic shit, fill in the black part with black
when both are dry, fill in the rest with the white flexy plastic shit
look up resin casting mold
you can even add a rag holder to it, so you can clean up the oil leaks when...

They were scrap from random boards. White oak. Red oak. And a couple strips of mahogany.

What is the best way to store energy from solar or wind in a DIY storage at home? Hydrogen or a flywheel or something else? I Think about 1 to 10 KW/h
>flywheel
Is that a joke? Seriously I wonder what would happen if flywheels became the main energy storage device for solar power? With the earth covered in millions of giant flywheels wouldn't the gyroscopic force slow the rotation of the earth?
>>955754
Vacuum sealed flywheels are actually a pretty great way to store energy
>>955752
maybe this?

Is there anyone here who is into FTA TV? I'm not talking about hack boxes for theft of service, but taking your own dish, aiming it, and receiving unencrypted channels? It seems to be a fairly popular way to get TV internationally, but it's pretty much unknown in the US. Most popular pay-tv channels are encrypted, but there are plenty of 24/7 master feeds, news feeds, and sports feeds available in the US, especially on the weekends for random sports.
So far I have two dishes receiving...

Apologies for the crooked pic above, the thumbnail was rotated properly.
I've looked into it before about a decade ago.
The issue was needing to constantly re-point the dish or buy a motorized one.
So I never pulled the trigger.
OTA, yes....FTA, no
only have a 10ft pole with a medium size antenna and still get all the local channels
fed it into a homeworx converter and I can record as much HD as will fit on an external usb drive
the HDTV signal can be a pain with all the snow, but otherwise it's pretty nice considering the low cost and that it's all portable
Trying to buy up a lot in my city and going to be building pic related soon.
Anyone have any experience with this? I can lay the foundation myself, and will be hiring out a company to do the rest.
I have a general sketch up of what I want to be going for, but am looking to find some software that will help me get down into the nitty gritty of the whole thing, just so I have as much shit finalized as possible, biggest reason is that when I find the silo with relatively the right dimensions, I want to snatch that shit up asap.
I also have plans on building...

This sounds fucking retarded from start to finish.
You do realize that your house will be 30% stairs, right? You'll likely just lose a lot of money with this.
>>955443
This looks like a way to build a house out of a silo. Why do you want a round house with only one window/door anyway? and a tiny house at that? probably on the order of 400 sqft there for both levels (works out to ~16' diameter circle on two levels.
